Regulation and Safety > Societal Pressures & Norms
Over the years of working with clients, my understanding of health and wellness has continued to evolve.
And one thing has become incredibly clear to me:
The nervous system is at the centre of it all.
I’ve watched clients work so hard on their health.. changing their diet, taking supplements, exercising, addressing gut health and trying to fix the symptoms they’re experiencing. And while these things are important and can make positive impacts, I’ve come to understand that we also have to consider the state of the body receiving all of that support.
If we’re constantly stressed, overwhelmed, rushing, disconnected from our bodies or stuck in survival mode, our bodies may not be in the ideal state for rest, digestion, repair and restoration aka all of the things we ACTUALLY need to heal.
This realization has completely changed the way I approach my work. Nervous system support has become one of my biggest focuses and passions because I don’t believe wellness is just about adding more. Sometimes it’s about slowing down. Creating safety. Listening inward. And teaching the body that it doesn’t have to be in survival mode all the time.
And no — nervous system regulation doesn’t mean being calm 24/7 or never experiencing stress. It’s about building capacity, resilience and the ability to come back to balance. Building trust with yourself.
This is the work I want to continue sharing, teaching and helping my clients incorporate into their everyday lives.
Because your body isn’t working against you.
It is constantly communicating with you.
We just need to learn how to listen again.
