This Saturday will be my last Penticton Farmers Market for the next 3 Saturdays due to a LOT of fun family activities (graduation and vacation). I will still be in town for about a week, so feel free to message if you need something before we head out June 23-July6.

Rainbows!

We're so excited to be partnering with St. Stephen Summerland Anglican Church for our first Pride at the Stone Church. Our walk will be on the SIDE-WALKS of town, so please dress up, but no really big signs, banners or bikes.

After we walk we'll return to the Church property and share some food, fellowship, and fun. We'll have lawn games and some crafts. ALL are welcome. Who ever you are, whom ever you love, whatever you believe. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💒🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I've dropped the price of my 2 hour Plant ID walk for this coming Sunday, June 14th.

This is the last Plant Walk currently planned (possibly one in July, but working on it).

Do you want to learn Identification, traditional uses and a bit about processing and growing? Here's the event for you.

The South Okanagan Renaissance Fair!!!

What an amazing event! So many people, amazing costumes, fabulous performers, creative and wonderful vendors. The vibe was pure magic. My family (myself, hubby, our teens and their friends) had a great time! Looking forward to next year!

Had a FABULOUS time yesterday at the South Okanagan Renaissance Fair yesterday in Gyro Park, Penticton. Wow!
So many fabulous costumes, amazing performers, fun vendors! What an amazing turn-out for a first-year event! Pictures to follow, of course...once I figure out how to do that, lol

I love taking folks out to experience nature and the wild plants of our area.

Today, I've got a small group heading out with me to a Provincial Park (no foraging, obviously) to learn about some of our native and invasive species, including:

Mountain Arnica (Arnica cordifolia and A. laterfolia)
Devil's Club (Oplopanax horridus)
Rattlesnake Plantain (Goodyera oblongifolia)
Oregon Grape (Mahonia aquifolium)
Spring Horsetail (Equisetum arvense
Self Heal (Prunella vulgaris)
Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)
Plantain (Plantago major)
Burdock (Arctium lappa)
Kinnick Kinnick/Bearberry (Uva ursi)
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
Mullein (Verbascum thapsus)
Wild Rose (Rosa acicularus)
Black Cottonwood (Populus trichocarpa)
Fireweed (Chamaenerien angustifolium)

The park is really unique to our dry, desert-like area, as it is higher elevation and gets more rainfall.

Good morning, Summerland! Today will be my last day helping Replenish Refillery & Zero Waste Store with their vendor booth at the Rotary Sunday Summer Market due to obligations the rest of the Sundays this month. I will be bringing most of my products!

The market itself runs until the end of September.
