This Thanksgiving, Whispering Hope is grateful to share smiles, laughter, friendships, and time well spent surrounded by beautiful animals in nature ♥️

It’s the feeling of walking in barn, and feeling so much love and belonging.

Grateful, thankful, and blessed to share this little farm with all of you! ✨

Special thanks for the continued support our community has given. They continue to show up, and I continue to open my barn doors ♥️

Today was a pretty special day here at Whispering Hope Farm♥️

For the past couple of years we have been slowly checking off boxes of things we hoped to do to make our farm more accessible for everyone.

When we opened up our farm and participants started to attend we noticed that there was some barriers of an outdoor farm program. Thats when I started writing down a little list of things that we could upgrade as time went on. It was important to me to create a place where more people can comfortably move around, participate and feel included.

Our first step was extending an accessible walkway from the parking lot right to the barn. We wanted that walkway to extend all the way around the farm to creating easier access to more of the animals and spaces that make Whispering Hope Farm so special.

Today another big piece of that dream came together. With the help of Gillis Heavy Equipment (who actually helped us with both of those projects). They started first thing this morning and didn’t stop until supper time.

A very special thank you to Ronald Gillis and his heavy equipment operator “Andy” for doing such a fantastic job. We are incredibly grateful for the care and hard work that went into making this happen.

There is still more we hope to do and accessibility will continue to be something we work toward as our little farm grows. But today, I looked around and thought about where we started 5 years ago… Its days like this that remind me to keep dreaming big to notice the little things that can make a big difference and to keep working toward what matters most to us. Creating a place where everyone has the opportunity to experience the animals, the land, and the feeling of belonging here. 🌿♥️

Sometimes it’s the little things that remind me that im right where im supposed to be♥️

One of our after school families sent me a picture over the weekend of some schoolwork their child had completed and my heart melted when I saw what she had written about. Our sweet little pony Dreamy. Her favourite animal friend here at Whispering Hope Farm.

Theres something pretty special knowing that the connections being made here dont end when the kids leave at 5:00. But continue to carry on into their homes, classrooms, stories and my hope is that it also will carry into the way they see and care for animals and the world around them. 🌳

To us Dreamy is part of our family but to one of our after school children, shes a friend important enough to write about at school. 🥹

And I think thats one of the most beautiful parts of this program. It isnt always about what we do during those two hours after school. Sometimes its about giving children the time and space to form a connection with an animal, with nature, with each other and with themselves.

Thank you to her parents for sharing this with me. These are the little reminders that mean more than you know.

And Dreamy… I think you have yourself a pretty special friend. ♥️ (But I know she knows that already as I watched this child walk to the fence/horse paddock, and Dreamy will leave her “food” to come say hello and share time together.)
