I am not a runner. I have never been a runner.
I was an athlete. But never a runner.
I was never good at running.
I didn’t like running (probably because I wasn’t good at it).

In high school, my dad (who was also the AD and my coach) would make me go into the gym before school and run. Apparently when I ran it didn’t look “athletic” no matter how good I was (and still fast, and powerful). I have ALWAYS been self conscious about how I look when I’m running. I still am (maybe another reason I don’t like it).

This past weekend, I watched people of all shapes, sizes, speed and abilities take part in the 5 miler, and I was inspired. So, after running about 3 times in last 6 (or more) years, I decided to swallow my pride and go for a “run” (more of a jog…. Sometimes walk…).

Who knows. Maybe one day I will like it. Even if I don’t look “athletic” 😜
