This morning was all about moving the Cornish chicks from their small nursery to a bigger enclosure in the ole cabin 🐣 🐥
Lots of...
Pooping
Chirping
Shavings
Pecking
Exploring
As well as sweating, flopping, 2nd guessing and possibly swearing by myself as i was setting up the enclosure area 😆 🤭

We have lost 5 chicks so far which is high 😔 This is our 4th year and we are unsure what to contribute it too other than the extreme heat wave...
Setting up better air movement and will keep up with cool water and electrolytes throughout the day.

My emotions ~ which ahhhh I can't even tell you how they ran around wildly last week 🌬 I w.o.r.r.i.e.d about....the heat affecting all the animals, ppl without a/c or fans, the forest animals, my unplanted plants, ponds & dugouts, us...I had my moments of overwhelm as I looked in any direction and seen all the things that needed to get finished or started...ohhhh dear the goats got out yet again and ate all the peppers...the cat is stuck in the attic...we have 1,000,000 mosquitoes surrounding our house...3 baby Cornish hens died...Bailey needs to go to the vet...I have blisters on both my feet...

I know we all have these weeks. Its called L.I.F.E ❤️

I also cannot help but be overwhelmed by all of the blessings of this past week, too numerous to mention and far far far exceed the things I have fretted about. And in this...
I praise God from whom all blessings flow 🙌

At times the world may seem crazy ~ Life may seem overwhelming ~ Our to-do lists may seem unmanageable...yet when we look around we observe creation is in perfect harmony and timing. Medicinal plants are growing all around us...and the healing they offer to our lives is coming 🌿

50 baby Cornish Giants have arrived on the homestead! It was a hot day to transport chicks today but everyone is doing well and enjoying water and food 😀

We added 50 feathered friends to the Wildwood Roots Homestead today 🐣 🐥 🐤 The Golden Girls were immensely excited!

These are Cornish Giants and will be raised to maturity and then harvested. They will remain in their nursery until they are big enough to move outdoors to be able to forage and enjoy fresh air.

These birds will be raised as naturally as possible and we are grateful for the food they will provide for us 🙌
