Always something going on around the homestead on the weekends. This one was about preparations for our September Long Weekend sale as well as foraging, harvesting and processing goodness from nature.

The morel mushrooms 🍄 are still growing on the homestead as we prepare for upcoming fall markets.

The sizes in the video are the small, medium and large varieties.

This year we have added mini, teeny, tiny, and huge sizes to the mushroom family!

All mushrooms are made with cedar harvested from our land. The smallest two sizes are carved on the lathe and the other 5 sizes are chainsaw carved by the Woodsman 🪵

Things that make you go hmmmmm 🤔 💭 We had to go into the Big Smoke 🏙 for an appointment this week and did some necessary shopping while there.
While in the men's department of a store, I turned to my left and I kid-you-not, there is a full sized, made for humans goat costume!
No other costumes around, just this goat costume 🐐 😳

Now I wasn't necessarily tempted to buy it to have it but, rather the thought of what our goats would do when they seen me in it got me chuckling in my mind LOL ...I didn't buy it.
However, I did talk to the bubbies about it yesterday evening and described its fleecy material and the oddity of it adorned with gold colored glasses. They looked at me perplexed. I could almost hear them saying, mama you already look more like a goat any day of the week than what that costume could do for you 😉 😆

P.S. maybe costumes is a thing in August because when leaving the city yesterday, parked at a stoplight, there was a fellow in a full-on Spider-Man costume acting out like he was Spider-Man. James and I looked at each other as if to say, the wisest thing to do now is to head south and keep on driving until we see trees...lots of 🌳 🌲 🌳 😂

Couldn't resist sharing ❤️ Halo sunbathing beside me on the bench earlier this evening. If you ever have a tough day, or a wonderful day, make sure that you end it on a bench, beside a goat, and everything will feel all right 😍

It's been a full week and a good week on and off the homestead! Filled with all the ebbs and flows and beautiful challenges that life has.
