Years ago, when I was running an environmental nonprofit, I often wished I had someone walking alongside me.
I had incredible mentors, and I’m still grateful for them.
But over time, I realized what I really wanted was a guide. Someone who would stay with me through the full journey, not only answer a question when I felt stuck.
The mission was never the hard part.
I cared deeply about environmental stewardship. I loved the work. I believed in what we were building.
Fundraising was the part I didn’t expect.
Before long, I was spending more than half my time raising money, and it was the part of leadership I felt least prepared for.
So I learned the slow way.
One conversation at a time.
One mistake at a time.
One donor at a time.
And somewhere along the way, I started thinking that one day I’d like to be that person for someone else.
The guide I kept wishing I had.
That’s where Kaci came from.
I built it for nonprofit leaders who love their mission but find fundraising difficult.
You shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.
