There's all kinds of things I can teach in fitness.
The one I'm not sure I could teach someone is the fighting spirit, the warrior spirit, that mental toughness that goes deep, the one that refuses to give up when things get tough and you want to quit, but you don't because something inside you, something deep in you, that toughness, that no quit mentality, that relentlessness.
Here we have the 2nd runner up in the race for the 2026 MVP Most Valuable Performance Award.
There was someone else who was leading in first. But he quit. He didn't want to push anymore to reach his ultimate goal. He went far for 8-9 months and did great during that time. Only had a few months left to complete his goal of 1 year consistency. Quitting is easier and that's why some people choose that path. Once someone really sets their mind to something, it's hard to change.
But there's some people who set a goal and they hunt it down like they are hunting down food like their life depends on it.
The show goes on. So here we have the 2nd place runner up for 2026, who is now leading the way as the champion for 2026. But he still has to surpass the 8-9 month mark of fitness routine consistency to secure it.
He's still not there. He still has proving to do but he has proved enough so far to be in the running for 2nd place still and now has a chance to be a champion.
Becoming a yearly champion is extremely difficult in anything. Many things have to line up that year. If you have a chance of becoming a champion of the year, don't let it slip, because you may never get that ever again in that area. To throw something away when you are so close to becoming a champion, it's a big missed great opportunity.
But it's much more than that. To know that you set a goal, and be able to look at yourself in the mirror, and say, I DID IT! I proved to myself I DID IT! It's something very fulfilling. And to top it off, to be recognized and a CHAMPION OF THE YEAR in anything, it shows how others perceive you.
Self perception is important, but when others see so highly and respect you as a champion, it's so special.
Anyone else can still rise to the top. People talk. Only time will tell who was true to what they said.
