Strength training and knee osteoarthritis:

Research has shown that for people with knee osteoarthritis, strength training throughout life may help preserve joint function and mobility. This allows for decreased pain levels, increased physical activity, and better quality of life.

Integrative medicine: Naturopathic medicine integrates complementary and alternative treatments with pharmaceuticals for improved patient outcomes.

Research has shown that the combination of conventional treatment with healthy dietary practices, herbs, physical therapy and exercises, stress management and environmental protection has led to increased control of arthritis symptoms and flare-ups (rheumatoid, autoimmune and osteoarthritis).

Is there an association between arthritis and other health conditions?

Let’s find out!

Research has shown the prevalence of the four most common conditions: High blood pressure, high lipids/cholesterol, obesity, thyroid disease, with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and axial spondyloarthritis. The other associated conditions are given in the image below.

Adapting to weather 🌞🌧️❄️💨
Protecting joints from weather changes and adapting to them is essential. Patients with arthritis, including osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, frequently report increased pain and rigidity associated with lower temperatures and higher humidity. Weather can affect the release of internal chemicals such as opioids and cytokines, and influence ion channels that modify overall nerve function.

Using heat packs or cold compresses and staying hydrated are some ways to protect joints from weather changes.
