Still tired, cold, and foggy… even when you’re doing everything right?

This is something I see often.

Women are eating well, trying to support their iron, and making changes…
but still don’t feel like themselves.

Because sometimes, it’s not just about iron.

Your thyroid plays a key role in energy, metabolism, and how your body uses nutrients.

And your thyroid depends on iodine.

This is something I see often.

3 things I wish I knew earlier when I was trying to improve my iron:

For years, I thought if I just found the right supplement or ate more iron-rich foods, my energy would finally make sense.

But iron is rarely that simple.

Here’s what I wish I understood sooner:

1. Ferritin matters, but it isn’t the whole story.
Ferritin shows iron storage, but it doesn’t explain everything about how your body is using, transporting, or responding to iron.

2. Absorption can be the missing piece.
Gut health, stress, low stomach acid, inflammation, histamine issues, and digestion can all affect how well your body uses iron.

3. Your full history matters.
Sleep, periods, digestion, stress, medications, infections, and long-term symptoms can all add important clues.

So, if your iron still isn’t improving, the answer might not be more iron.

It might be understanding what’s blocking your body from actually using it.

This is what "everything looks normal" can feel like.

You're tired. Foggy. Dizzy. Anxious. Trying to explain symptoms that are affecting your actual daily life.

And then you're told everything looks fine.

That can feel so lonely. Like you're stuck in a maze with no clear way out.

The truth is, women are consistently more likely to leave medical appointments without clear answers. Symptoms get brushed off. Labs get called normal. And you're left trying to connect the dots on your own — between fatigue, low iron, ferritin, stress, digestion, and symptoms that don't fit neatly into one box.

This is one of the reasons the women's health gap is so real. Not because doctors don't care — but because the current system often looks at symptoms in isolation rather than as a connected picture.

She was doing everything right… but still didn’t have answers.

One of my clients had been trying to improve her health,
but nothing was fully explaining what was going on.

She knew something was missing.

Instead of focusing on one symptom at a time,
we looked at the bigger picture.

That shift helped her better understand what was actually going on — and gave her confidence moving forward.

You can try all the iron supplements in the world… and still not feel better.

This is where so many women get stuck.

Because iron isn’t just about what you take.

It’s also about what your body can actually absorb, tolerate, and use.

Things like:

If you crave sugar all the time… it’s not random.

One of my clients thought it was a willpower issue.

She felt stuck in a cycle of cravings and frustration —
like she just needed more discipline.

But cravings aren’t just about willpower.

They’re often your body trying to compensate for something.

Low iron, blood sugar imbalances, and digestion all play a role.

When we looked at the full picture, things started to shift.

If you feel worse after eating certain foods…

I see this all the time with women who are told their labs are ‘normal’… but they still feel off.

Headaches.
Bloating.
Anxiety.
Fatigue after meals.

👉 Sometimes it’s histamine.

But here’s the part most women miss…

Low iron can make it harder for your body to break histamine down.

So, it builds up — and triggers symptoms from foods that should feel fine.
