Tinnitus can make it difficult to concentrate and turn quiet moments into stressful ones. While there is no universal cure, simple daily habits may help reduce how noticeable ringing or buzzing feels. Consistency is key as the brain gradually adapts to new routines and sounds.

Reduce Stress: Stress can make tinnitus seem louder by keeping the nervous system on high alert. Spend 10–15 minutes each evening practicing deep breathing, mindfulness, or gentle muscle relaxation to promote calm.

Use Background Sound: Silence can increase awareness of tinnitus. A fan, white-noise machine, or soft water fountain can provide neutral background noise and help shift attention away from internal sounds.

Limit Stimulants: Caffeine and ni****ne may worsen tinnitus for some people. Reducing these stimulants and staying well hydrated may help. Pay attention to your symptoms to identify personal triggers.

Protect Your Hearing: Loud noises can aggravate tinnitus. Use appropriate hearing protection when using power tools, vacuuming, attending concerts, or operating outdoor equipment.

Improve Sleep: Poor sleep can make tinnitus more noticeable. Maintain a comfortable sleeping position and consider gentle background sound at night to encourage restful sleep.

Get Professional Help: If tinnitus persists or interferes with daily life, a hearing evaluation can identify contributing factors and support a personalized management plan. Contact us at HearBear to schedule a comprehensive assessment.

By 2 years, kids typically say 2-3 word sentences with 50 words vocabulary. By 3, they use 3-4 word sentences with 1000 words vocabulary. These developmental milestones help to measure progress in children. Though, each child’s growth is different and unique.

If your toddler hasn't reached these milestones, don't worry! The good thing is, many types of speech delays can be effectively treated.

How Active Lifestyles Influence Hearing Aid Selection?

An active lifestyle requires hearing aids that can keep up with movement, changing environments, and busy routines. Whether you’re running outdoors, cycling, working, or attending social events, choosing the right hearing device means considering durability, comfort, and smart features.

Active users benefit from hearing aids designed to resist sweat, moisture, dust, and everyday impact. Wind-noise reduction is especially valuable for runners, cyclists, and golfers, helping preserve speech clarity and awareness of important environmental sounds.

Automatic environmental settings can also make busy days easier by adjusting volume and noise reduction as you move from quiet spaces into restaurants, meetings, or crowded areas. For all-day reliability, rechargeable hearing aids provide convenient power for calls, streaming, workouts, and extended daily use.

A secure, comfortable fit is equally important. Custom-fit options can help prevent devices from shifting during exercise while improving sound delivery and reducing feedback.

At HearBear, we understand that hearing aids should fit your lifestyleβ€”not limit it. If you’re looking for the right hearing aids in Surrey, our team can help you explore options suited to your daily activities, comfort needs, and communication goals.

Contact HearBear today to schedule an evaluation and discover hearing solutions designed to keep you connected and confident.

Speech therapy for autism is full of surprises! Slide through to discover 5 facts that completely change how we think about speech, language, and connection.

πŸ‘‰ AAC Doesn't Stop Speech. Using communication tech or picture boards actually helps verbal skills growβ€”it doesn't slow them down!
πŸ‘‰ Play is the Work. For young kids, therapy looks like pure fun. Games are secretly teaching turn-taking and how to share joy.
πŸ‘‰ Regulation Over Chat. Autistic children often use words to manage their environment or calm their nervous systems, not just for casual small talk.
πŸ‘‰ Echolalia Has a Purpose. Repeating phrases isn't empty noise. It is a brilliant way to process language, communicate, or self-soothe.
πŸ‘‰ More Than Just Talking. Did you know speech therapists also work on safe eating, chewing, and swallowing? It is all about mouth muscle strength!

Communication is beautiful in every single form. ❀️

ELI5: How do you HEAR things?

Sound is just invisible wiggles in the air (yep, WIGGLES). Your ear is basically a wiggle-catching machine:

1️⃣ Your outer ear (the flappy part) scoops up the wiggles like a satellite dish πŸ“‘

2️⃣ They zoom down a tunnel and smack into your eardrum β€” a tiny drum that shakes when the wiggles hit it πŸ₯

3️⃣ That shake wiggles 3 teeny tiny bones (smallest bones in your whole body!) that pass the wiggle along like a game of telephone

4️⃣ The wiggle hits a snail-shaped tube full of liquid called the cochlea 🐌 β€” it turns the wiggle into an ELECTRIC signal

5️⃣ That signal zooms to your brain and your brain goes "OH that's mom calling me for dinner" 🧠

So basically... your ears turn air wiggles into brain sparks. Wild, right?

🎧 Next time someone's talking to you, remember: their voice literally shook the air, then shook 3 bones smaller than a grain of rice, just to reach you.
