Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Location: Thorhild Pharmacy, 221B, 2 St, Thorhild, AB T0A 2V0
Employment: Part-Time | Hiring Immediately
Thorhild Pharmacy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team immediately. This role plays a vital part in ensuring excellent customer service and supporting the daily operations of our pharmacy in accordance with Alberta’s professional and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist licensed pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, following all applicable regulations.
• Greet and interact with patients, addressing queries with courtesy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Manage prescription orders, including retrieving medications, labeling, and organizing inventories.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with Alberta privacy and pharmacy legislation.
• Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and meets safety and quality standards at all times.
• Assist with administrative duties, such as answering phones, handling transactions, and managing appointment bookings.
• Communicate effectively with health care professionals, suppliers, and patients to support seamless pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional post-secondary education in pharmacy assistance or related field is an asset.
• Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy software systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team dynamic and independently under fast-paced conditions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant Alberta pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
