Metta is a warm + inviting space that offers a comfortable, clean + safe environment for you to relax in. Sending love to all the kids + teens moving through grad + prom season right now 🤍

Watching my own son head into this season has me thinking a lot about young people these days.

Such an exciting time, but also one filled with pressure, expectations + big decisions about the future.

Sometimes we forget how much young people are carrying too.

We really feel for this generation growing up in a world that rarely slows down or gets quiet.

Wishing all the young people moments to be present, soak it all in + just breathe through this exciting season of life.

And if you have a grad you’re celebrating this season, we’d love to hear about them 💐🎉🧑‍🎓

Mother’s Day can hold so many emotions depending on your story.

Today I’m sharing about the woman who came into my life + loved me like her own after the tragic loss of my birth mother when I was a newborn.

I think part of why care, comfort + emotional safety matter so much to me is because I know what it feels like to not always have those things…

And I also know what it feels like to receive them in a way that shaped my life, my heart + eventually the work I do now. 🤍

A little team recognition today 🤍

Congrats to Metta’s beloved team members, Chayse + Jackie, who were recognized by their community in the Toronto Star Readers’ Choice Awards.

We don’t do this work for awards or recognition. Most people who choose this path do it because they genuinely care, because they want to help + because making someone feel even a little bit better is reason enough.

That’s why it feels especially meaningful to see these two wonderful humans acknowledged by the very community they show up for every day with so much dedication, skill + heart.

Metta is a Buddhist word that means loving-kindness.

Many years ago this philosophy became the quiet intention behind my work as a massage therapist.

When it came time to name the clinic, it felt like the only word that truly reflected what I hoped this space would be.

I believe that when a practitioner genuinely cares, that intention can be felt.

That has always been the spirit of Metta.

Before there were finished rooms or warm lighting, there was just a feeling of what it could be, and I trusted it.

I remember standing in those empty rooms, excited to transform them into the warm + welcoming home of Metta.

More than a clinic, it would become a healing space where you could feel held + nourished by caring, compassionate providers.

Sometimes we end up creating exactly what we needed, even before we realize it.
