Sarcopenia is more than “getting weaker with age.”
It’s a progressive loss of muscle mass and strength that is strongly linked to falls, fractures, and loss of independence.
Research shows that muscle strength is one of the strongest predictors of health outcomes in older adults, even more than muscle size alone.
While activities like walking are important for cardiovascular health, they do not provide enough stimulus to maintain muscle.
👉 Muscle needs resistance to adapt.
The good news:
Strength can be improved at any age.
Even small, consistent efforts can lead to meaningful changes in function and quality of life.
