You’d never call yourself a collector. And yet.
I know. I didn’t see mine either, until I put one thing down after another and felt the difference.
We spend our whole lives collecting. More things. More achievements. More titles. More proof that we matter.
And somewhere along the way, we start collecting the other stuff too. Heartbreak. Betrayal. Expectations. Regret. Old versions of ourselves. We carry all of it.
But one day, every single one of us leaves this earth with none of it. Not the house. Not the money. Not the resentment. Not the guilt. Not the shame or the pain. Not the story.
So lately I’m not asking what else I need. I’m asking what still owns me. What expectation. What fear. What role. What identity. And one by one, can I leave them here.
Because if I have to put it all down eventually, how much can I put down while I’m still here to feel the lightness?
Finish this sentence for me: “I’m ready to put down ______.” Drop it below. I’ll go first. 👀
And if a woman came to mind while you read this, send it to her. She’s probably been carrying hers a long time.
I’m learning that the most valuable thing you’ll ever own is the ability to let go.
There’s more to this one. I’m going deeper this week into how you actually put something down, because knowing you’re carrying it and knowing how to set it down aren’t the same thing.
