What you do in those first few weeks following your ACL surgery can make or break the rest of your recovery! đŸŠ”

Not all ACL surgeries are the same & the type of graft your surgeon uses (patellar tendon, hamstring, or quad tendon) changes how your rehab should look. Each one has different timelines, different precautions, and different goals in the early stages. Your physio plan needs to reflect that! 📝

Richard builds every post-op program around your specific surgery, your surgeon’s protocols, and where you need to be at each milestone. At Rise we work with you to develop a structured, intentional, and designed to keep your graft protected while getting you back to moving better! 🙌

If you’ve had ACL surgery recently or you know one’s coming, this is your sign to get your physio rehab set up properly from day one.

Looking down at your phone with your head leaning forward means your neck is holding way more weight than it should be.đŸ«

Your head weighs about 5 kg when it’s sitting directly over your spine - think about a bowling ball sitting on a pole. Tilt it forward 15° and that jumps to 12 kg. At 30° it’s 18 kg. And at 60° (which is basically how most of us look at our phones) your neck/mid back is carrying 27 kg of pressure.đŸ€Ż

That’s the weight of a small child hanging off your neck. For hours a day. Every day!!

Over time, that kind of repeated stress leads to neck pain, upper back tension, headaches, and postural changes that get harder to reverse the longer they go.

The fix doesn’t have to be complicated. Bring your phone up to eye level instead of dropping your head down. Take breaks. And if things are already feeling tight and uncomfortable, get checked at Rise before it turns into something bigger!

Save this and share it with someone who needs it!

STICKY, STUCK HIP? Check out why Fascial Stretch Therapy with Adriano will help!

In case you didn’t know, there are 10 layers of fascia running from just beneath your skin all the way down to wrapping around your bones!

Adriano describes it best: think of the pith of an orange. That white webbing that holds all the cells and structure in place? That’s essentially what fascia does for your body.

When fascia gets tight and restricted (especially around your hips), it squeezes the hydration out of the surrounding area and creates that compressed, stuck feeling. That’s when you start getting pain, stiffness, and limited range of motion that no amount of regular stretching seems to fix.

Fascial Stretch Therapy works by gently decompressing those structures and creating space where your body has lost it. It’s pain-free, it’s targeted, and the relief is something you feel right away.

If you’ve got hips that feel stuck, a body that won’t loosen up, or mobility that just isn’t where it used to be, book an FST session with Adriano!

Summer prep that actually matters 👆

We’re not talking about crash diets and gym challenges. We’re talking about getting your body and mind into a place where you can actually enjoy the summer instead of spending it dealing with stuff you should’ve handled months ago.

The best part? Every single thing on this list is available at Rise. You don’t need to run around to five different clinics. It’s all here!

That satisfying moment when the cups go on and you can literally feel the tension releasing 😼‍💹

Cupping works by creating suction that draws blood flow to tight, restricted areas. It loosens fascia, releases deep muscle tension, and gets into layers that hands-on massage can’t always reach on its own.

Those marks people always ask about? They’re not bruises. They’re stagnant blood being pulled to the surface, which is actually part of the healing process. They fade in a few days but the relief sticks around way longer.

It’s amazing for back and shoulder tightness, chronic tension, recovery from training, and honestly just helping your body let go of everything it’s been holding onto.

If you’ve been curious about cupping or you already know you need it, book your next massage appointment with Amanda through the link in our bio and try it out!

These myths have been floating around forever and they stop people from getting care they could really benefit from. That’s why we wanted to set the record straight. 👇

If you’ve been holding off because of something you heard or assumed, this is your sign to just ask. We’d rather answer a hundred questions than have someone avoid care because of a myth.

Do you have pain or “knot” at the top of your “shoulder” or along your shoulder blade that just wont go away?

One of the biggest mistakes people make? Stretching the area that hurts over and over thinking it’ll help. Sometimes it does. But sometimes you’re actually irritating the nerves even more by overstretching them. You feel tighter so you stretch more and it just keeps getting worse. Sound familiar? 🧐

And if you’re ONLY ever treating the spot that hurts, whether that’s massaging it, foam rolling it, or stretching it every night before bed, you might just be chasing the pain instead of finding what’s actually causing it.

The source of the problem and where you feel it aren’t always the same place. That’s why getting a proper assessment matters. We look at the full picture, figure out whether it’s a joint issue, a nerve issue, or something else entirely, and then treat accordingly.

If your neck pain keeps coming back no matter what you do, stop guessing. Come in and let us actually figure out what’s going on đŸ€

Be honest
how many of these do you do? 😅

Most of the pain people come in with isn’t caused by one big event. It’s caused by tiny habits repeated every single day that their body has been quietly compensating around for months or years.

Crossing your legs the same way. Sleeping with one leg up on your stomach or side all night. Carrying your bag on one shoulder. Looking straight down at your phone or holding your phone between your ear and shoulder to talk. Sitting on your wallet in your back pocket. None of these feel like a problem in the moment, but over time? Your body keeps score.

The good news is that once you know what you’re doing, you can start changing it. AWARENESS IS KEY! And if things are already feeling tight, stiff, or painful, that’s your body telling you it’s been compensating long enough.

Save this and start noticing this week. And when you’re ready to get things sorted, we’re here!
