"Summer" isn't about pushing harder just because you can.

In Trellis, "Summer" is what happens when there's enough capacity to reach a little further.

More movement. More challenge. More connection. More life.

But knowing when you're ready for Summer, and what growth should actually look like, isn't always obvious.

That's where the seasons start to become useful.

Some of the people we met along the way.

Most of them we’ll never see again.

I think there’s something pretty great about that - meeting strangers.

We spend a lot of time thinking about the relationships closest to us.

But travelling has reminded me that there’s another kind of connection that matters too.

The conversation with someone you’ll never meet again. A smile from someone passing by. A few words exchanged while you’re waiting for something.

These interactions might be brief, but they connect us to the world around us.

Maybe we need strangers more than we realize.

An MRI showed a tear in the back portion of this patient's medial meniscus.

But the finding is only part of the story. Here, Yang works with his patient on a single-leg bridge to load the hamstrings and glutes, while keeping the knee controlled throughout the movement.

And when the exercise becomes easier? Progression doesn’t always mean adding more weight. Sometimes a pause and a little more control are enough to make an exercise significantly harder.

This is what individualized rehab can look like: understand what’s going on, choose the right starting point, then gradually build from there.

A few different colours from the beginning of our trip.

Reykjavík, the start of the cruise, and apparently a few different versions of me along the way.

I used to think moods were pretty black and white.

I was either in a good mood or a bad mood. And if I was somewhere in between, maybe it was just grey.

But I don’t think feelings work like that.

They’re more like a rainbow. We can move through different colours throughout a day, or even within the same moment. Calm, anxious, excited, frustrated, grateful, tired. One doesn’t necessarily cancel out the others.

Maybe we don’t always need to decide whether we’re having a “good” day or a “bad” one.

‌Maybe we can just notice what colour we’re in right now.

Starting again doesn't mean starting where you left off.

Maybe you've been away from exercise. Maybe work got busy. Maybe stress took over. Or maybe life simply happened.

The temptation is to look backward and try to become the person you were before.

But that's not what Spring asks of you.

In Trellis, Spring is about meeting yourself where you are now and finding a way to begin from there.

Not perfectly. Not all at once. Just today.

If your upper back feels stiff after sitting, working or spending too much time in one position, sometimes it just needs a little movement.

Alice walks through a simple thoracic mobility exercise designed to create movement through the upper back, particularly between the shoulder blades.

You can hold the position as a stretch, or move in and out of it to work on mobility.

Small movements can make a difference when you practise them consistently.

Some things feel different on vacation.

You might be rushing to catch a bus, trying to figure out a change of plans, or having a conversation you’d rather avoid.

The feeling can be surprisingly similar to the stress we experience at home.

What changes is the way we see it.

On vacation, uncertainty can feel like part of the adventure. At home, that same feeling can seem like something we need to get rid of.

Maybe we don’t always need the feeling to disappear.

Sometimes we just need to change what we do next.
