Arthritis takes more than people realize.

It’s the plans changed. The moments missed. The independence lost.

Our new report puts the cost of arthritis in Canada at $142 billion every year.

Behind that number are lives changed. These are the people living it every day.

🫶 Together, we can build a future with less pain and more possibility.

Arthritis is costing Canadians more than you think.

Our new report reveals the true cost of arthritis in Canada: $142 billion every year.

But behind that number are real people — and a significant economic and social burden.

This Arthritis Awareness Month, we’re looking at what that means for millions of Canadians.

It’s pain. Lost independence. Missed moments. Lives changed.

Driving change for kids living with arthritis. 💙⛳️

What began 30 years ago as a tennis tournament founded by Joe Paiva has now grown into a beloved community tradition. To date, the Swiss Chalet and Harvey's Charity Golf Tournament has raised nearly $400,000 to support people living with arthritis.

This year, Jacob put that impact into perspective.

Diagnosed with juvenile arthritis at just eight years old, Jacob is an inspiring fundraiser who has raised more than $12,000 for causes close to his heart.

Thanks to the generosity behind this tournament, kids across Ontario living with arthritis — including Jacob — were able to go to camp, where they could connect, have fun and know they’re not alone.

Thank you, Joe Paiva, Rob Paiva, Joe Tinoco, Swiss Chalet and Harvey’s, for more than 30 years of making a difference. 💙

“Camp is where I know I'm not alone."

Diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at age five, Jameson spent much of his childhood on the sidelines, unable to keep up with his peers because of chronic pain.

Thanks to treatment, he now runs track, plays football and enjoys the outdoors.

Every summer at Camp Ontario, he's surrounded by friends who understand what it's like to live with arthritis.

For kids like Jameson, Arthritis Society Canada's summer camps are where the loneliness of arthritis lifts.
