I've been a tattoo artist since 2005, I remember I liked the body decoration since I was very young, I started drawing in the classroom at school in my native Mexico, but in that period I thought that it was impossible to survive as a tattoo artist, that concept has changed since I live in Canada. Before traveling to Toronto, I lived in Cancun- Mexico doing temporary tattoos to tourists. Later I
decide to move to Toronto, Canada where I learned several life lessons as any immigrant learns when you find yourself in a country where they speak a different language and where you have to survive doing not very pleasant jobs like cleaning, and working at factories. After falling into a very strong depression, I looked for an activity that would allow me to find the taste of life and move forward ... that's when I decided to spend my savings on my first permanent tattoo kit. I began looking for opportunities until I found the “New Age tattoo”, There I receive their confidence and taught me the art of tattooing ... since then, they have supported me and allowed me to grow professionally as a tattoo artist. Now I have fans around the world and people coming from different cities asking me to tattoo them and to design their tattoos, even, sometimes in "freehand". I always try to put a personal touch to every tattooing job I do. I have the skill of tattooing in many different styles, but my specialty is "gray" tattoos and realism. Actually, I am also cooperating with a radio station the website is: www.radiorocksinbanderas.com, in which we support independent artists and musicians. I am also working on a photography project to publish my first book containing the tattoos that I've done throughout my career. I love what I do and most of all I like to delight me hearing the stories that people say behind every tattoo. I owe myself to the people who support me, my husband, my family and the people who trust me allowing me to decorate their bodies permanently. Mi nombre es Merlina, y mi pasión es tatuar. He sido tatuadora desde 2005, desde que recuerdo me ha gustado la decoraciòn corporal, empece dibujando en clase en mi pais natal Mexico, sin embargo tenía en la cabeza que era imposible sobrevivir siendo artista, concepto que ha cambiado desde que vivo en Canada. Estuve viviendo en Cancun haciendo tatuajes temporales a los turistas. Mas tarde decido mudarme a TorontoCanada con lo cual se me presentan varias lecciones de vida como cualquier immigrante al encontrarse con un idioma diferente y el sobrevivir haciendo trabajos no muy placenteros como limpiando , y trabajando en fabricas. Despues de caer en una depresion muy fuerte, busquè una actividad que me permitiera encontrarle el gusto a la vida y salir adelante...ahí fue cuando decidí gastar mis ahorros en mi primer kit de tatuajes permanentes. Empecè a tocar puertashasta que encontrè New Age tattoo, lugar donde me dieron la confianza de enseñarme el arte del tatuaje ...desde entonces me han apoyado y me han permitido desarrollarme profesionalmente como tatuadora. Ahora tengo seguidores de todo el mundo y gente que viene de diferentes ciudades a que yo los tatue y les diseñe sus tatuajes , incluso algunas veces "freehand". trato de ponerle un toque personal a cada trabajo que hago. Puedo tatuar muchos estilos diferentes, sin embargo me especializo en "grey" tattoos y realismo. Actualmente tambien me dedico a cooperar con una radio www.radiorocksinbanderas.com , en la que apoyamos artistas independientes y mùsicos. Tambien estoy trabajando en un proyecto de fotografia, para publicar mi primer libro de tatuajes que he hecho a lo largo de mi carrera. Me encanta lo que hago y sobretodo me gusta deleitarme con las historias que la gente cuenta detras de cada tatuaje. Me debo a la gente que me apoya, a mi esposo, a mi familia y a la gente que confia en mi para decorarlos permanentemente.
