We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Joanne Hickey, MD FRCSC to our Pollin Ottawa team. Not to be confused with our original Dr. Katrina Hickey, and no, they are not related, but they are both outstanding! 🙂

Dr. Joanne Hickey received her medical degree, followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dalhousie University. She then completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at The University of Ottawa.

Dr. Hickey is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBGYN) and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). She is a member of Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society (CFAS) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).

Being from the East Coast, Dr. Hickey enjoys taking the time to really get to know her patients and understanding their fertility journey. She values ensuring her patients understand all aspects of their treatment approach and plan. She has a special interest in PCOS and recurrent pregnancy loss.

Outside of work, Dr. Hickey enjoys walking her dog and exploring parks with her family.

Pollin Ottawa is opening in 2 phases. Please review the following dates to understand how this may impact your fertility care timeline.

PHASE 1: June 8th, 2026
Pollin Ottawa Opens for In-Person Patient Care (Excluding Embryology and Frozen S***m Services)
Patients will be able to access the following on-site:

✅Initial consultations and all clinical follow-up appointments
✅Diagnostic testing including blood tests, ultrasounds and semen analysis
✅Cycle monitoring for IVF (private and funded cycles), egg and embryo freezing cycle plans
*Travel to Toronto will be required for egg retrievals and embryo transfers until Ottawa lab opens
✅Low Intervention fertility treatments: cycle monitoring, medicated and non-medicated cycles, timed in*******se and Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) with fresh s***m only

PHASE 2: Late summer/early fall, 2026
Pollin Embryology Lab Opens—All Fertility Care Treatments Available Locally
Our state-of-the-art Embryology Lab will be fully operational to provide the following on-site services:

✅Egg Retrievals, Embryo Fertilization
Embryo Transfers
✅Egg, S***m and Embryo Freezing
✅IUIs with frozen s***m
✅On-site cryostorage

Dr. Cassandra Greenberg earned her medical degree at the University of Toronto. She completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subsequently a Fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI) at McMaster University.

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).

Dr. Greenberg has a special interest in egg freezing and family building for LGBTQ+ couples. She is committed to providing honest and compassionate care and helping each patient along their unique fertility journey toward their goal of building a family.
