You know the saying, cats have nine lives, well that’s true for this little guy.
We are so incredibly blessed he is still with us.
Yesterday he got $4 for book sales & had two $2 coins. He was so happy with himself. I seen the coins in his mouth and talked to him about it being dangerous & dirty & to keep them away from his mouth. He obviously didn’t listen & I should have known better. I thought they were too big to be a choking risk.
An hour or so later, Aisling comes screaming around the house to go to him. Initially we thought he was vomiting, but he was full on choking on the $2 coin. There was panic when realizing it. started doing the Heimlich, I couldn’t do anything. I was panicking, Aisling was losing her mind, a friend who’d stopped by was on to 911.
First pump nothing, second pump nothing, third, forth... and then after what seemed like an eternity, it came out. Rob & Nathan curled up in the corner.
F**k, that was so stressful!
Last night he slept next to me while Aísling sleeps with her daddy. We are all a little traumatized, processing, but finding a lot to be extra super grateful for on this new day. I think today we’ll skip school today, watch a movie, snuggle on the sofa, go sit on the beach and eat ice cream and enjoy the simple moments in life.
Further note:
This isn’t his first time either.
At a party years ago he swallowed a bombón whole and something magic saved him.
Last year he was walking by the pool at our air b&b and tripped into the pool. His feet were stuck on the ground, his head submerged in water, unable to get out.
Another was jumping out in-front of a car in London with Rob.
Falling off a table as a baby...
My boys like a cat with 9 lives, we are at number 5 now I think, but I really don’t want to have to go through another 🙈
On another note: I’m officially out of the as my second workout yesterday was to happen at 8pm, and for obvious reasons that didn’t happen. Rob is still going strong so I will continue with him on food, no alcohol & training.
