With summer winding down and kids heading back to school, we’re saying goodbye to another amazing camp season.

Not all disabilities are visible.

Disability can look different for everyone. Some disabilities are immediately apparent, while others may not be visible at all. These include neurological, cognitive, sensory, mental health, and chronic conditions that aren’t always immediately apparent.

For people living with invisible disabilities, it can sometimes be difficult to access the accommodations and support they need. Understanding, kindness, and inclusion can go a long way in helping everyone feel seen, respected, and supported.🌻

Today, we kicked off the first Drop Zone event of the season in Halifax with Easter Seals Nova Scotia. 🎉

Funds raised through Drop Zone help support vital programs and services for Canadians living with disabilities. 💙

For many Canadians with disabilities or long-term conditions, getting from point A to point B can come with barriers that others may not see.

2025 data from Statistics Canada highlights the transportation challenges many travellers face, including barriers at stations and terminals, difficulties onboard vehicles, and a lack of needed supports or accommodations.

Creating a barrier-free Canada starts with listening to lived experiences and removing barriers so everyone can travel with independence and dignity.

In the first year of the National Disability Initiative alone, at least 24 new partnerships and collaborations were formed across organizations working to advance accessibility and inclusion, with more to come.
