The OCA’s Queen’s Park Day (May 13) marked a milestone day in advocating & celebrating progress for chiropractors with recent steps by the Ontario Government towards authorizing chiropractors to order diagnostic ultrasounds to help patients. While we continue to advocate for MRIs & CT scans to be included for patients – we are so proud of our members, partners, CMCC students and patients for taking part in this pivotal day for the profession! It was great to have chiropractic patient Herbie Kuhn at the event and sharing his support for the recent news.

We had a great OCA Queen’s Park Day yesterday. We met with MPPs and government staff to continue to advocate for chiropractors and their patients. These meetings helped to further educate on scope expansion, auto insurance reforms and protecting consumer access to animal chiropractic care.

We discussed how pleased we are that the Ontario government announced they are taking steps forward on authorizing chiropractors to directly order diagnostic ultrasounds for their patients. We also shared how authorizing chiropractors to order MRIs and CT scans can also help to provide patients with more connected and convenient care closer to home.

The OCA applauds the Ontario government for taking steps to move forward with authorizing chiropractors to directly order diagnostic ultrasounds for their patients. We have long advocated for chiropractors having the authority to order advanced diagnostic imaging to match their training and expertise in spine, muscle and joint care to support patients in Ontario.

On behalf of our 4,000 members, we want to thank the government for moving forward with this change to provide patients in Ontario with more connected, timely, and convenient care closer to home.
