Volunteer Spotlight | Meet Kamalpreet
Kamalpreet began volunteering at our Specialized Care Centre in Scarborough in December 2024, eager to grow personally and professionally while giving back to the community.
She supports the Administration program, assisting the unit clerk with scheduling, preparing admission packages, and coordinating calls — gaining valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes work that keeps patient care running smoothly.
What means the most to Kamalpreet, however, is her time with patients. From trivia and puzzles to bracelet-making, drawing, and painting, she helps create moments of creativity, independence, and emotional comfort. Through these experiences, she has learned to approach patients with empathy, patience, and calm reassurance — especially during challenging moments.
She treasures the bonds she has built, sharing meaningful conversations, laughter, and stories — whether discussing trivia or listening to a patient’s passion for cooking.
Kamalpreet is especially grateful for the guidance and encouragement of our Volunteer Manager, Rima, whose support has made her journey deeply rewarding.
