CanPath lance une nouvelle façon pour les chercheurs de collaborer à travers le Canada sans avoir à partager ni à transférer les données des participants.

Ce nouveau système permet aux chercheurs d'étudier simultanément des informations de santé provenant de nombreuses régions, tout en garantissant la sécurité et le stockage sécurisé des données là où elles se trouvent. Cela signifie que vos informations restent protégées, tout en aidant les chercheurs à mieux comprendre les maladies chroniques comme le cancer.

En facilitant la mise en relation des données par les chercheurs, nous espérons accélérer les découvertes susceptibles d'améliorer la santé des Canadiens.

This new system helps researchers study health information from many regions at once, while keeping data safe and securely stored where it belongs. That means your information stays protected, while still helping researchers learn more about chronic diseases like cancer.

L'hypertension artérielle touche des millions de Canadiens, et pour mieux comprendre pourquoi elle se développe, qui elle touche et comment la prévenir, il faut des années de recherche et cette recherche commence avec des personnes comme vous.

Lorsque vous avez rejoint CanPath et votre étude de cohorte régionale, vos données de santé ont pris une dimension plus large. Des chercheurs de tout le Canada utilisent les données de nos plus de 350 000 participants pour étudier des pathologies telles que l'hypertension et chercher des réponses susceptibles de changer la façon dont nous la prévenons et la traitons.

Saviez-vous que les données que vous fournissez dans le cadre de l'étude BIEN aident déjà les chercheurs à se poser des questions plus larges sur la santé au Canada ? 🤔💭

La semaine dernière, Alex Pepetone, responsable du projet de recherche de BIEN, a présenté son projet de recherche lors d’un salon consacré à la recherche sur la prévention du cancer à l'Université de la Colombie-Britannique (University of British Columbia). Ses travaux portent sur l’insécurité alimentaire, c’est-à-dire le fait de ne pas avoir un accès fiable à la nourriture en raison de ressources financières limitées, et cherchent à déterminer si cela influe sur la qualité de l’alimentation des Canadiens et ce que cela pourrait signifier pour le risque de cancer.

Le travail d'Alex correspond exactement au type de recherche que l'étude BIEN a été conçue pour soutenir. Chaque repas que vous enregistrez, chaque questionnaire que vous remplissez, tout cela alimente des travaux comme celui-ci.

Did you know the data you contribute to the HEAL study is already helping researchers ask bigger questions about health in Canada? 🤔💭

Last week, HEAL study project manager Alex Pepetone presented her proposed research at a cancer prevention research showcase at the University of British Columbia. Her work looks at food insecurity, or not having reliable access to food due to limited financial resources, whether it shapes the quality of what Canadians eat, and what that might mean for cancer risk.

Alex's work is exactly the kind of research the HEAL study was built to support. Every meal you log, every survey you complete, it all feeds into work like this.

Chaque questionnaire que vous avez rempli sur votre alimentation et votre activité physique est une pièce d'un puzzle bien plus vaste. Les chercheurs peuvent utiliser ces données pour étudier le cancer, les maladies cardiaques, la santé mentale et bien d'autres choses encore.
