Closing the Bones is a traditional postpartum healing ritual, best known through the Mexican rebozo tradition and practiced worldwide. Each lineage varies, but the shared purpose is to honour birth as a rite of passage and to support physical, emotional and spiritual integration after birth and across all life transitions. These ceremonies offer deep rest, reflection and care.

$250 CAD for shortened version: opening circle, warm oil foot massage, full body wrap and closing with rebozos, hot tea, light snack, candlelight, fresh flowers and herbs (1.5-2 hours)

This includes virtual inquiry call, planning, materials, after-care email, text support and a two-practitioner team.

In 2024, I gifted Becky a Closing the Bones ceremony for her birthday, as a way to honour and bring care to a protective intervention, an abortion she laboured through in 2020.

That moment became the beginning of our devotion to this work.

Our first ceremony was held, and since then we’ve been immersed in learning and sharing Closing the Bones with other women, as a deep act of service and care.

We keep returning to the simplicity of it.
The second-nature knowing of our great-great-grandmothers
wrapping, stirring, humming, bleeding, rocking, crying,
together.

This is women’s work.
Tending to the secret parts.
Marking moments of loss + transition
with profound, uncomplicated care.

Blood, Baths & Broths: How I Turned Survival Into Soup

I survived sexual violence and a marriage that broke me.

I built a career caring for women while quietly saving my own life.

I come from religious control and deep relational rupture.

I turned that pain into a life of feeding, holding, and healing women.

I turned trauma into ritual, survival into ceremony, and silence into sacred voice.

I learned how to survive very dark, horrible places.
Now I am learning how to feel safe inside my own body.

I built a life around keeping everyone else alive while I was bleeding out. A life I had to escape from.

Now I refuse to die quietly and I’m building a future that holds me first.
