Giving clinicians time back where it matters most is a meaningful way AI can support care delivery. With our AI Scribe Program, we’re already seeing that impact clearly.

After six months, clinicians enrolled in Infoway’s national AI Scribe Program saved an average of 1.11 hours per week during work hours and nearly an additional hour afterhours—with gains appearing as early as three months.

That time adds up quickly, creating real space for patient care and reducing the burden that often extends beyond the workday.

The impact goes beyond efficiency. The proportion of clinicians reporting good or optimal work-life balance nearly doubled—from 22% at onboarding to close to 40% by six months. And more than 90% agreed that AI scribes added value to their clinical practice.

A more connected health system depends on the ability to exchange information safely, consistently and in ways that support the realities of care delivery.

Last week, we welcomed the Government of QuĂ©bec’s continued commitment to ePrescribing through the next phase of Prescription QuĂ©bec. This work reflects the value of building on existing digital health infrastructure and supporting jurisdictional priorities through practical implementation.

Prescription Québec is already helping enable secure electronic prescription exchange between prescribers and community pharmacists in Québec. Through this next phase, Québec is building on existing digital health infrastructure to support safer prescribing, reduce reliance on paper- and fax-based processes and improve the experience of patients and healthcare professionals.

We remain committed to working with Government of Québec, Santé Québec and their partners, as well as other jurisdictions and partners, to support the next phase of ePrescribing in Canada.

In digital health, ‘trust’ isn’t just a feeling—it’s the foundation for a system that enables health information to move securely and consistently across settings, regions and care teams.

Canada’s Connected Care Trust Framework is the national network helping make that a reality. It is designed to help health systems connect with confidence, so they can securely and consistently share health information wherever care is delivered.

By establishing a common foundation of governance, legal and technical frameworks, the Connected Care Trust Framework allows participants across Canada to recognize and trust one another, creating the conditions to share health information safely, effectively and with confidence.

At its core, this work is about helping ensure that when a patient receives care, anywhere in Canada, the right information is available, securely and appropriately, at the right time.

Our AI Scribe Program has proven what’s possible when it comes to AI adoption at scale in primary care.

More than 11,000 primary care clinicians registered in the program, with 82% beginning to use their AI scribe within the first month—highlighting both strong interest and rapid uptake in real-world settings.

That momentum translated into impact. Over the course of the six-month evaluation period, monthly AI-assisted encounters grew fivefold, demonstrating how quickly these tools can become embedded in clinical workflows.
