Are you wondering where your vegetables are coming from in the Grocery Store. Why not know exactly where they come from by planting your own. Even if you don't have a lot of room, some plants, like lettuce for example, can be grown in pots.
In September in Ontario, you can plant cool-season leafy greens, fast-growing root vegetables, spring-blooming bulbs, and perennial trees or shrubs.
Cool-Season Vegetables
Spinach and Lettuce: These leafy greens thrive in the cool weather of September and can survive light autumn frosts.
Radishes: Plant seeds directly in the ground for a quick harvest in about four weeks.
Garlic: Plant garlic cloves in late September or October before the ground freezes so they can sprout next summer.
