Triglycerides don’t get talked about enough in conversations around heart health.

But elevated triglycerides are strongly associated with:

• insulin resistance
• inflammation
• plaque buildup
• increased cardiovascular risk

One of the most interesting things researchers have found is that fasting may help lower triglycerides naturally.

When the body spends less time constantly processing incoming food, it becomes more efficient at mobilizing and burning stored fat for energy, which can help reduce circulating triglyceride levels.

Research has shown:
🔬 Intermittent fasting can significantly reduce triglycerides in overweight and obese individuals
🔬 Time-restricted eating may improve overall lipid metabolism
🔬 Alternate-day fasting has demonstrated triglyceride reductions of approximately 20%

This is part of why fasting is being studied so heavily in metabolic health and insulin resistance.

Sometimes improving health isn’t about adding more.

It’s about strategically allowing the body time to reset and regulate.

Food can change more than your body.

It can shape your mood, cravings, energy, and emotional well-being too.

In my book, Ancestral Wisdom for Modern Healing, I break down why protein is our number one “good mood food.”

Foods like fish, poultry, eggs, and red meat provide amino acids your brain needs to function well, along with healthy fats that support:

Satiety
Mood regulation
Steady energy
Satisfaction after meals
When your meals are missing protein and healthy fats, feeling “off” may not be a willpower issue. It may be a nourishment issue.

Start noticing how your meals make you feel — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Health doesn’t need to be a full-time job.

If your wellness routine requires 17 supplements, a color-coded tracker, a 5 a.m. wakeup, and a personality transplant… maybe we’ve overcomplicated it just a little.

The “Good Enough” approach is simple:

Eat more whole foods.
Move your body in ways that feel doable.
Get outside when you can.
Spend less energy chasing every new health hack.

“Am I doing enough?” is not the goal.

Feeling better, building consistency, and creating a lifestyle you can actually live with? That’s the goal.

So if your type A brain is already trying to optimize your relaxation… lovingly, same.

Comment “good enough” if you’re ready for a lower-stress way to feel well. 🌿

Omega-3s are one of the most talked-about nutrients in health… but something important often gets missed:

The form matters.

In seafood, omega-3s naturally occur in structures like triglycerides and phospholipids, forms that work alongside other nutrients naturally found in fish.

Meanwhile, many omega-3 supplements used in research are provided in more processed forms like ethyl esters or free fatty acids.

That doesn’t mean supplements are “bad,” but it does highlight the difference between isolated nutrients and whole foods.

Eating fish regularly also provides:
✔ high-quality protein
✔ minerals like selenium
✔ naturally occurring nutrient cofactors

And DHA specifically plays a major role in:
🧠 brain structure
🧠 glucose metabolism
🧠 supporting BDNF, which is involved in learning and memory

This is why I always try to prioritize food first whenever possible.

A simple goal:
🐟 fatty fish 2x/week

One of my favourite options is because they make high-quality seafood easy and accessible.

Ever notice how saying “no” to sugar suddenly makes you the odd one out?

We have completely changed what food means to us.

It is not just fuel anymore. Food is our emotional support, our main entertainment, and the only way we know how to celebrate.

Try showing up to a gathering and skipping the heavy dessert. People actually get uncomfortable. We live in a society where eating ultra-processed garbage all day is completely normal.

But the second you try to make intentional health choices? People act like you are the one with a problem.

“Are we really okay with this new baseline?”

Let me know in the comments: have you ever had to defend your healthy choices to friends or family? 👇

Sleep impacts almost everything in the body… yet so many people treat exhaustion like it’s normal.

Low energy
Mood swings
Sugar cravings
Brain fog
Hormone imbalance
Feeling “wired but tired”

A lot of the time, poor sleep is sitting quietly underneath it all.

The interesting thing about sleep is that it’s not just about rest.

While you sleep, your body is actively working:
• repairing tissues
• regulating hormones
• supporting metabolism
• processing memory
• even helping clear waste from the brain

Which means consistently missing sleep affects far more than energy levels alone.

The good news? Small habits can make a huge difference.

Things like:
☀️ getting sunlight during the day
🥩 balancing blood sugar with protein-rich meals
📵 reducing screens before bed
🚶 moving your body regularly
☕ cutting caffeine later in the day

And most importantly, creating consistency.
Your body thrives on rhythm.

You don’t need a “perfect” routine overnight. Even small shifts can help support deeper, more restorative sleep over time.

What’s one habit that’s helped improve your sleep lately? 😴

Sometimes I think the modern grocery store tells us everything we need to know about how our relationship with food has changed.

There was a time when grocery stores were small.
Simple.

You’d find a butcher, eggs, dairy, and seasonal produce, often sold outside by local farmers.

Food wasn’t endless. It changed with the seasons. And most of what people bought was real food.

Now walk into the average grocery store today.
Aisles and aisles of products. Bright packaging. “Healthy” labels everywhere.

But most of that growth didn’t come from more nourishment. It came from ultra-processed foods that were engineered for convenience, shelf life, and constant consumption.

And once you start noticing it, it’s hard to unsee.

This isn’t about fear or perfection. It’s about awareness.

The modern food environment shapes the way we eat more than most people realize. And sometimes, the healthiest thing you can do is simplify again.

Is the best health advice hiding in your family tree? 🌿

“Listen to your roots.” That’s the simple, powerful advice my grandmother passed down to me.

She didn’t have a formal nutrition degree, but she always warned me against eating eggplants too often.

Why? Because generations of ancestral wisdom taught her that certain plants contain natural compounds that can upset our bodies if we overindulge.

Sometimes, the greatest health secrets aren’t found in a science textbook—they are passed down right around the kitchen table.

Are you ready to discover the traditional knowledge your body is craving?

Check out my book, Ancestral Wisdom for Modern Healing, and get back to your roots so you can finally enjoy the foods that work for you.

Your relationship with food isn’t just about food, it’s about so much more. 🌱

It’s shaped by family dynamics, emotional patterns, and what you were (or weren’t) taught about expressing your needs.

These books have been game-changers for me:
📖 The Let Them Theory - Letting go of control and what’s not yours to carry
📖 Mother Hunger - Exploring the emotional gaps food can’t fill
📖 You Can Heal Your Life - Shifting beliefs that shape how you cope

Healing goes deeper than a meal plan, it’s about awareness, not force. 💡
