I’m on Vancouver Island this week and I always try to maintain a little bit of a routine while I am travelling. Today I got in a mini workout to set the tone for my day.

How do you fit in exercise when you travel?

My daily supplement list, and why I make these four part of my daily routine.

Even the cleanest diet has gaps, so a high quality multivitamin is your foundation. Think of it as daily insurance, filling in what food misses on any given day.

Vitamin D is non-negotiable, especially here in Canada where sunscreen and long winters mean most of us simply are not getting enough from the sun alone. It supports bone health, immunity, and is linked to the prevention of a range of chronic diseases.

Magnesium is involved in hundreds of biochemical reactions in your body, from blood sugar regulation to muscle function, and it is one of the most common deficiencies in midlife women. It also helps you wind down and sleep, which is reason enough on its own.

Omega 3s support brain health, help regulate inflammation, and play a role in blood sugar stability. Most of us are not eating enough fatty fish to meet our needs, so this one fills a real gap.

All well researched, well tolerated, and worth adding to your routine.

Two more things before you spend another dollar on supplements.

Stick to evidence aligned dosages. The research exists for a reason, and mega dosing is not more effective, it is just more expensive.

And always look for your country’s quality seal. In Canada that is an NPN number, issued by Health Canada. It tells you the product is safe, the ingredients are accurate and it meets quality standards.

Stop buying supplements until you know these two things.

As a nutritionist, these are the first two things I look for on every supplement label, and they should be on your radar too.

Miracle claims and proprietary blends are two of the biggest red flags in the supplement industry.

Watch to the end and then catch part two before you spend another dollar.

Six pillars. All of them important. But if I had to rank them...

This was not easy. Every single one of these pillars matters and I will stand behind all six of them. But women ask me all the time where to start, and after years of working with women 40+ and living this myself, I do have answers.

Sleep, nutrition and movement earn a 10 from me. Not because the others do not matter but because these three are the foundation everything else is built on.

Stress management sits at an 8. It’s the one most women know they need to address and keep pushing to the bottom of the list.

Support and timed eating both land at a 7. Genuinely
powerful, but most effective once the foundations are in place.

Wondering where your habits stand right now?

This spring, I am back in the road training for the 2026 Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Unfortunately this year, my “why” went a little deeper.

I still ride for Mary and Danny, two friends I lost to cancer. For my Mom and my sister, both survivors who show me every day what strength looks like. And this year, three more women I admire who received diagnoses, along with everyone holding it together for them from the sidelines.

I ride because I can. Because 200 km over two days, surrounded by that kind of energy and love, is easy compared to living with cancer or supporting someone through the disease.

Last year was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and I cannot wait to do it again, especially this year with my husband by my side.

Screw cancer. Let’s ride. 🚴‍♀️🧡

When I had a little fun with AI this week, and the results were fascinating.

I asked it to take one photo of me and recreate it based on different lifestyle habits that I see in my practice. The differences were not dramatic in a before and after way. They were subtle, and they told a story.

A story of what it looks like when a woman is exhausted. Exhausted from looking after everyone else but herself, or tired of trying every diet under the sun and never seeing results.

She looks heavier, and I do not mean just physically. I mean in her energy, her eyes, and her demeanor. That is the version of a woman who needs support.

And then there is the version of a woman who is supported. She prioritizes her health without apology. It is the same woman, with different habits, and an entirely different trajectory.

Most women do not need another diet. They need support and consistency to build habits they can actually sustain long term.

If you are a woman who is done surviving, done putting herself last, and ready to make lasting changes for lifelong health and independence, comment ME and I will send you more information.

You’ll learn:

1. Why “Eat Less, Move More” can work against your body in midlife.

2. The real reason quick fixes and fad diets keep failing and why it has nothing to do with willpower.

3. How hormones actually affect weight loss and what to do about it.

4. The biggest factor that can help you lose weight that no one talks about.

Real results from real women.

“I learned so much at your webinar. I have already made so many changes. Adding protein to breakfast means I stay fuller longer and my afternoon sugar cravings have stopped. I feel more energetic and in control of my energy levels.”

That is Jenny. She attended one free webinar and walked away making real, immediate changes she could feel within days.

That is the goal every single time I show up on a screen or stand in front of a room. Not to add to the overwhelm around nutrition and healthy living, but to cut through it. To take something that feels complicated and make it feel clear, practical, and specific to your life.

Jo Anne said I made complex topics interesting, understandable, and practical. Janicke’s group agreed I was passionate, knowledgeable, and easy to listen to. Tim called our session practical and interactive. Robin encouraged everyone she knew to work with me.

If you are a woman who is ready to stop guessing and start understanding what your body actually needs, my free webinar this Wednesday at noon is your next step. Link in bio.
