Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research Dramatically changing how we manage and prevent heart failure in adults and children

Calling all patients and caregivers navigating life with Heart Failure!

Heart failure is one of the leading causes of hospitalization in Canada, but the real experiences of patients and caregivers are still not fully understood.

HeartLife Foundation and UBC are inviting patients and caregivers across Canada to complete a short, anonymous survey about life with heart failure. The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and your input will help inform future education, advocacy, research, and care.

If you are 19 years of age or older, live in Canada, and have lived experience with heart failure as a patient or caregiver, we want to hear from you.

Please visit the survey link to participate:

That's a wrap on Heart Failure Awareness Week 2026, and what a week it was!

Thank you to everyone who engaged with our content, shared posts, shone a light on heart failure with us, and helped amplify this year's message: it is not normal to be breathless. Always get it checked.

We're grateful to the Canadian Heart Failure Society, our campaign partners, and our incredible community for making this year's HFAW such a success. Awareness is the first step toward earlier recognition, better outcomes, and more lives saved.

📢 Calling heart function and in the Greater Toronto Area!

TRANSFORM HF and The Heart Hub are working to build and sustain a community of local people with lived experience who are “research ready”! Foundations, their free workshop series, is designed to train and empower patients, caregivers, and family members to engage in cardiovascular research.

Key dates:
🗓️ Session 1: March 19 (online) 12PM-1:30PM EST
🗓️ Session 2: April 9 (in-person) 9AM-1PM EST

At the end of the course, graduates will be able to:
✔️ Identify as knowledgeable people with lived experience ready to co-create with researchers
✔️ Understand the role of patient partners in health research and assess its challenges and opportunities
✔️ Access and use patient-oriented research resources to be meaningfully engaged at every stage of the research journey

⭐ Interested? We are accepting applications until March 1, 2026.

Please note: Due to the hands-on nature of the course, space is limited. Twelve participants will be selected based upon their responses to an application form, with a focus on ensuring a diversity of representation, experience, and perspectives.

Don't forget to wear red for tomorrow, February 13!

In addition to celebrating Valentine's (and Galentine's!) Day, tomorrow is also about raising awareness for Women's Heart Health!

Heart disease is the leading cause of premature death for women in Canada, yet women are more likely to have their symptoms missed or dismissed. Let's help bring awareness to the importance of prevention and early diagnosis for all women ❤️
