When we think about fertility, we often focus on hormones, lab results, and treatment plans. But our experiences, emotions, and the stories we carry in our bodies matter too. Trauma can take many forms—childhood experiences, grief and loss, medical trauma, relationship challenges, or even the stress and heartbreak that can accompany infertility itself.
This conversation is not about blame or suggesting that trauma causes infertility. Rather, it's about recognizing that we are whole beings; mind, body, and spirit and that emotional healing and nervous system support can be meaningful parts of the fertility journey.
Joining me today is Delia Petrescu, a registered psychotherapist and founder of Get Reconnected Psychotherapy Services. Delia specializes in trauma therapy, reproductive mental health, fertility counselling, and supporting individuals through postpartum challenges. She is passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, process difficult experiences, and find healing through life's transitions.
Together, we'll discuss the impact trauma can have on fertility and reproductive health, the importance of addressing emotional well-being, and ways to cultivate resilience and support along the journey to parenthood.
