A few moments from summer at The Calm. ☀️📷

From supporting a meaningful cause through our Pop-Up Acupuncture Clinic, to bringing massage therapy into nature at the Dimensions Retreat, to connecting with our community at Toronto Boxing Academy, it’s been a summer filled with movement, care, and connection.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us, supported these events, and helped make this summer one to remember.

Here’s to a little reflection before we head into autumn.

Meet Janick Hébert, RMT 👋

With 12 years of experience in massage therapy, Janick brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to care that is centered on helping people reconnect with their bodies in a meaningful way.

Janick focuses on targeted TMJ and Buccal Massage - a deeply restorative intra-oral and facial technique designed to release jaw tension, ease chronic clenching or grinding, and relieve stress held in the face and neck. Combined with her expertise in myofascial release, positional release, peri-natal care, and soothing scalp work, her treatments are as effective as they are relaxing.

You might want to book with Janick if you’re navigating jaw pain or head tension, carrying stress from work, moving through pregnancy or postpartum care, or simply needing a quiet space to restore and reset.

Whether you’re strength training or keeping up with everyday life, your body needs time to recover.

Building recovery into your routine through quality sleep, hydration, mobility work, and hands-on care can help reduce soreness, improve performance, and keep you moving well for the long term.

Taking care of your body does not take time away from your goals. It’s what helps you reach them.

Available in 60, 75, and 90-minute sessions, with your treatment tailored to your goals.

Not sure which option is right for you? Our RMTs can help you decide! Book you appointment today through the link in bio.

Summer has a way of bringing new goals into focus. For some, that might mean spending more time outdoors. For others, it might mean training for something new, building a skill, or challenging themselves in a different way.

Boxing is one example of how movement can become more than exercise. It demands focus, discipline, resilience, and the ability to stay present, qualities that extend far beyond the gym.

At The Calm Corner, we’re interested in the connection between physical performance and recovery. How we train, recover, manage stress, and show up for ourselves all play a role in long-term health.

This summer, we’re encouraging our community to think about what they’re working toward and what support they need along the way. Because progress is not just about pushing harder. It’s also about creating the foundation that allows you to keep going.

GLP-1 medications can support weight loss, but movement still matters.

Three reasons to keep moving while taking a GLP-1:

💪 Protect your muscle: Strength training helps preserve lean mass during weight loss.
🦴 Support your bones: Regular exercise helps maintain bone health.
❤️ Build fitness: Cardio improves cardiovascular fitness in ways medication alone can’t.

Living well is not just about adding years to life. It is about supporting the habits, relationships, and routines that help us feel our best through every stage of life.

At The Calm, we believe wellness is an ongoing practice. From managing stress and supporting recovery to caring for your physical and mental health, the small choices we make today can shape how we feel tomorrow.

Aging is not something to resist. It is something to move through with strength, resilience, and care.

Here's to finding beauty in the journey, and supporting your well-being every step of the way.

A gentle reminder as we move through the year: If you have extended health benefits, they are meant to be used.

Massage therapy, physiotherapy, counselling, acupuncture, and naturopathic care are all forms of support that can help you feel better now, not just when things feel urgent.

It’s common to put off care until symptoms build up, but early support often leads to better outcomes, less discomfort, and a stronger sense of balance overall. If you’ve been meaning to book in, this might be your sign not to wait.

Take care of yourself while your benefits are still available!

Take a moment to care for yourself while making a meaningful difference for someone else. 🤍

Join us on Sunday, August 16, from 2:00–5:00 PM for a special Pop-Up Acupuncture Clinic at The Calm. Treatments will be provided by Dr. Simone Pirita, ND and Zoey Ong, R.Ac., with 100% of proceeds donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Every appointment will help suport vital research, advocacy, and care for individuals and families affected by cystic fibrosis, while giving you the opportunity to pause, resent, and invest in your own well-being.

Appointments are limited. Book online or give us a call to reserve your spot. We hope you'll join us in supporting this important cause.
