Today, Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women (ehcw) celebrates 34 years of serving our community!

For 34 years, ehcw has been a place of hope, support, opportunity, and connection for women, youth, seniors, newcomers, families, and individuals who have needed a helping hand.

Today, we celebrate the thousands of lives touched, friendships created, and countless moments of courage and resilience. From supporting women through difficult times to empowering youth, welcoming newcomers, connecting seniors, and supporting families, every story and every client has been an important part of our journey.

Here’s to continuing to empower, support, connect, and build stronger communities, together.

Self-defense is more than protecting ourselves physically. 💪

It’s about recognizing when something doesn’t feel right, not ignoring the signs, understanding our options, and finding ways to protect ourselves.

As women, we are often taught to ignore our feelings, needs, and boundaries. Sometimes, this can make it harder to recognize a situation and act before it becomes unsafe.

In our self-defense classes, we learn to **observe, recognize, protect ourselves, and find solutions.** 🌱

Join us every two weeks to feel stronger, more confident, and supported. ❤️
