Here's the MIDAS Touch self-assessment I want you to run through:

🔹 M — How consistently do you start with meaning-based questions?
🔹 I — How often do clients say, "I never thought about it that way"?
🔹 D — How consistent and visible are your routines and follow-ups?
🔹 A — How authentically do you share your passion and your stories?
🔹 S — How often do you add value when you're not selling anything?

And the ultimate close:

If a client ever calls you a great salesperson — you've lost.
But the moment they say "WE"?

"How do you think WE should proceed?"

That's the moment you've truly won.

Because you weren't selling. You were serving.

Stephen Covey said everything is created twice — first in the mind, then in reality.

I take that seriously.

Before every talk, when people wish me good luck, I turn it down. I don't need luck. I've already seen the outcome. I'm living in lag time — the gap between when success was decided in my mind and when it becomes real.

"I've seen all of you stand up and shout, 'Bravo, Lipkin.' Whether you do it or not is not important. I've seen it."

This is the mindset of a potentiator — someone who creates breakthroughs not just in themselves, but in everyone around them.

And it starts in the mind. Every single time.

The Conversation That Is Running Your Life
Courage is not a trait. It is a discipline. It is a muscle. Built by frequent small reps — not occasional heroic ones.

There are only two kinds of people in this world.

Those with whom you have to work.
And those with whom you want to work.

Your knowledge? Your expertise? That's 20% of the equation.

The other 80% is who you are when you show up.

Do you walk into a room and uplift the people in it — just through the way you engage them?

Here's the question I want you to sit with:

"Are you someone who is elevating the performance of the people around you simply because you are close to them?"

That's the real differentiator.

What does the M in MIDAS stand for?

Motivation. Mission. Mindset. Meaning.

I would say — all of the above. But here's the truth underneath all of it:

To motivate with meaning, you have to lead with WHY — not what.

The why is 80% of your success.
The how is 20%.

And when it comes to connecting with clients at the deepest level, it's not your answers that matter.

It's your questions.

Like:
"What would it mean for your family if money became a source of confidence instead of concern?"

"What's the number one outcome you want to protect for your financial future?"

"What is the dream that, if you could finance it, would make your future a dream?"

Ask better questions. Connect deeper. That's the M in MIDAS.

Harry Houdini had a famous trick: invite the strongest person in the room to punch him in the stomach as hard as they could.

He'd trained for it. He knew how to prepare. He amazed audiences every time.

Until the day a fan hit him without warning. No preparation. No readiness.

Harry Houdini died.

The lesson: if you're ready, you can handle the hits. If you're ready, you can swim toward the wave instead of away from it.

Surfers spend 2 hours and 57 minutes anticipating the wave. Three minutes actually surfing. And those three minutes make every second of waiting worthwhile.

Love the anticipation. But when the wave comes — swim toward it with everything you've got.

I met a guy at a conference. He told me to call him.

I called. No response.

I called again. And again. Ten times. Nothing.

So I got creative. Every Friday at 3pm, I called and left a quote.

"Hey Clive, sometimes you'll find yourself in a difficult place — and sometimes in a difficult place, Clive, you will find yourself."

"Procrastinate later. Do it now."

"Find a way, or you will fade away."

Forty Fridays. Forty quotes. Then I stopped — because even I have limits.

A week later? Clive called me.

"Where's my quote?"

My reply: "Where's my gig?"

Clive laughed. Hired me. And is still a client to this day.

You're not just chasing a deal. You're building muscle. You're becoming someone who doesn't quit. And the people worth working with — they notice.

"They tried to bury me. But they didn't know I was a seed."

I have been in the game for decades. And I'll tell you: the work you do when no one is watching is what makes everything possible later.

Seeds grow in the darkness.

The discipline, the hard days, the rooms you showed up for when you didn't feel like it — that's the soil.

I set a goal to be the world's oldest living motivator at 100. And I'm growing younger every day.

Keep planting.
