Who did I miss?? ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ๐Ÿง˜

West end Toronto has no shortage of places to get your body moving โ€” and honestly, that's one of my favourite things about this neighbourhood.

Whether you're a pilates girlie, lifting heavy, flowing through yoga, or still figuring out what kind of movement actually feels good for you, there's something here for everyone.

This week I'm shouting out some of my favourite local spots:

Fortides Pilates
Breathe Yoga Studio
The Body Engineers
SOUL FUEL Fitness + Pilates
SAOR
Myriam Pelletier | Movement Coach
Fuel Training Club

Movement isn't just good for your body. It's one of the most underrated tools for hormone health, cortisol regulation, and just feeling like yourself again. As your west end ND, I love that we have this many options right in our backyard.

Save this if you've been looking for somewhere new to try. ๐ŸŒฟ

Let me know which is your favourite in the comments!

Most supplements aren't working. ๐Ÿ’Šโœจ

And it's not because supplements don't work. It's because the dose is too low, the form is wrong, or the manufacturer skipped quality controls entirely.

Before I recommend anything to a patient, I check four things:

๐Ÿ“Šย The dose โ€” is it actually therapeutic or just enough to make the label look good?

๐Ÿ”ฌย The form โ€” magnesium oxide and magnesium bisglycinate are not the same thing.ย

๐ŸงชThird-party testing โ€” in Canada, look for an NPN, GMP standards, and whether the brand calls out independent testing on the label.

๐Ÿ‘€ย  The other ingredients โ€” flip the bottle over. You should care what goes into your body. Less junk in the formula, more room for what actually works.ย

Save this for the next time you're standing in a supplement aisle feeling completely overwhelmed.

Sound familiar ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ๐Ÿซฉ

Michelle came in exhausted, foggy, and frustrated. Her gut had been a mess for years and her cycle was becoming unpredictable. She had a feeling perimenopause was starting. What she didn't know was that her digestion was making everything worse ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿ

This is something I see constantly in practice. When elimination is sluggish, excess estrogen recirculates through the body instead of clearing out. That means heavier periods, worse mood symptoms, and more weight gain โ€” exactly what Michelle was experiencing. Before we touched her hormones, we worked on her gut. And it moved the needle faster than she expected.

Her bloodwork also revealed insulin resistance, which connected so many dots. Stubborn weight, brain fog, heavy periods โ€” insulin dysregulation amplifies every symptom of perimenopause. It's one of the most underdiagnosed pieces of this transition and one of the most important to address.

By visit four her GI symptoms were minimal, her energy was back, and her cycle โ€” while still irregular โ€” was so much more manageable.

This is what the Hormone Cornerstone Method is built to do. Not chase symptoms. Find the connections. ๐Ÿ’š

This is me, eating foods I once had to cut out completely. Growth ๐Ÿ’š

Shoutout to for making the best sandwich in the west end, by the way. Fueling this whole journey one bite at a time ๐Ÿฅ™๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Here's the thing about eating for your hormones: it might mean making some changes. Cutting things out, adjusting timing, paying attention to how food actually makes you feel. That part can be hard.

But I'm not here to hand you a plan that collects dust. I meet you where you're at. Food sensitivities, insulin resistance, cortisol spikes, it all connects, and we work through it in a way that's actually sustainable.

Curious how food might be impacting your hormones? Let's talk. Book a free discovery call at the link in bio.

If you're pregnant in Toronto, this one's for you ๐Ÿค—

Most prenatal care covers the basics. But there's a lot your OB or midwife appointment isn't addressing, and naturopathic medicine fills that gap really well ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I offer two specific appointments for pregnancy:

โœจ A naturopathic pregnancy check-in, recommended once per trimester, to make sure everything is being supported the way it should be.

โœจ Labour prep and induction acupuncture, which you can start as early as 36 weeks, including at or past your due date.

Both are designed to work alongside your existing care, not replace it.

If you've been looking for something more, book atย doctormargotnd.com or see the link in bio.

Everything you've heard about cortisol is probably missing the most important part ๐Ÿ”‘๐Ÿซช

It's not just your "stress hormone." It's not something you fix with an adaptogen and a nap. Cortisol has a daily rhythm, and that rhythm affects your sleep, your progesterone, your thyroid, your blood sugar, your energy โ€” all of it.

This is exactly why I don't start with supplements. I start by understanding your specific cortisol pattern. Because wired-and-tired looks different than flat-lined exhaustion, and treating them the same way doesn't work ๐Ÿ“ˆ

That's the whole idea behind the Hormone Cornerstone Method. One symptom rarely has one cause, and cortisol is almost always touching something else in the picture. The nuance matters.
If you've been trying to figure out why you're so tired, why sleep isn't restoring you, or why everything feels harder than it should, this is worth understanding.

Book a free discovery call through the link in my bio. We'll look at your actual pattern and figure out where to start ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’š

Herbs don't get enough credit for what they can do for your nervous system. ๐Ÿซถ

Chronic stress and time spent in fight-or-flight directly disrupts hormone production, digestion, and sleep. Getting your nervous system out of survival mode is foundational to feeling better, and certain herbs are remarkably good at helping you get there.

Here are five nervine herbs I use in practice and why I reach for them. #5 would make your nonna proud. ๐Ÿ˜„
