I’m looking forward to joining the DCAO & Benmor Family Law Group for a thoughtful evening exploring “The First Wives Club” through the lens of gray divorce, identity, resilience, and reinvention.

Gray divorce IS different than divorce earlier in life — not only because of the emotional, financial, and mental disruption, but because of when it happens.

Divorcees are grieving the future they thought they had built, often experiencing fears, regrets and despair amidst chaos, at a life stage meant for nourishing peace, meaning, and legacy.

These are the conversations I care deeply about:
👉 how people rebuild after major life transitions
👉 how old patterns surface under stress, for powerful reasons
👉 how we move from survival into something more authentic, because of the loss

It promises to be an honest, insightful, and meaningful discussion!

I was honoured to be a part of the FAB sponsored by Samantha Graff Benmor panel a few days ago… and what stood out to me most about this evening was the honesty in the room.

So many women carry the emotional weight of midlife while still showing up for everyone around them.

Partners. Children. Clients. Parents. Workplaces.

And often, without fully recognizing how much pressure they’ve been under for years.

One of the most important conversations we had was this:

Menopause doesn’t create entirely new wounds. The overwhelming changes in this season of life, often exposes the identity and control patterns women have been carrying for decades.

The over-functioning.
The people-pleasing.
The hypervigilance.

And while this stage of life can feel emotionally destabilizing, it can also become an invitation: to slow down, reassess, heal old patterns, and begin relating to yourself differently.

Grateful to have shared this conversation alongside such thoughtful women and to everyone who showed up with openness, vulnerability, and courage!

I want women to understand that burnout isn’t just about doing too much. It’s about misalignment between the inside and the outside.

When I spoke at the Mastermind recently, we explored what I call The Accountability Reset — a practical way to move from insight into action.

Because insight alone isn’t enough, and as a practicing psychotherapist, that’s the gap I focus on closing.

The goal is not

❌ more pressure,
❌ more hustle, or
❌ more overcommitment.

It’s building a foundation that allows you to lead from clarity, self-respect, and intentional choice.

Grateful for the honesty, reflection, and engagement in this room — and for feedback like this that tells me the message is landing!

And so it begins! Yellow Paint Book Club nights!

It was magical to have intimate conversations with readers, exchanging personal stories of pain, and what resonated most from the book.

“Yellow Paint: Learning to Live Again by experienced psychotherapist Karen Goslin MSW is a riveting account of her trials and tribulations and provides in-depth information about her successful and unique approach to therapy. I particularly enjoyed the lyrics by famous musical artists at the beginning of the chapters, to complement the themes of the book. I highly recommend this work to anyone interested in personal growth and healing.

5 stars!!!”

Thank you Julie C. Sheppard for your wonderful review - I am so honoured to have my book as part of your book club!

One of the most important things I’m offering & speaking about these days is the Yellow Paint Legacy Programs to inform the upcoming generation of therapists.

With 35 years of clinical experience, KG&Associates has a mission to teach therapy to ensure clients’ needs are fully addressed with clear frameworks and usable tools…

AND that therapists have career longevity.

👉 Research tells us that rates of therapist burn out, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma dramatically rise not only due to overly high workloads, lack of support and appreciation, and imbalanced life styles…

But ALSO if the work is too open-ended, unstructured and unclear without measurable outcomes.

…Enter, the KG Accountable TherapyTM Method.

It’s teaching therapists how to provide:

✅ comprehensive assessments
✅ leading to clear treatment plans
✅ with specific therapeutic strategies.

Not only is this good for the client, it’s good for the therapist.

I left my career for 2 years in the early 2000’s and I know first hand what it was like to be lost in the work.

I can teach this because I lived it and because I found my way out and up, and so do my clients, now owning my thriving practice for 27 years and still loving it.
