Her 2nd birthday is coming next month, and lately we've been looking back at these pictures and feeling so many emotions. 🥺🤍

When we look at this tiny girl in these hospital rooms, we see so much fear, so many tears, sleepless nights, procedures, medications, and moments when we didn't know what the next day would bring.

She was born with half a heart, and before she even knew what the world was, she was already fighting so hard to stay in it. Two open-heart surgeries, countless caths, bloodworks, echos, X-rays, medications, and more hospital days than any little girl should ever have to experience.

Sometimes our hearts hurt thinking about everything she's had to go through at such a young age. We wish we could have taken every scary moment away from her.

But then we look at her now… this happy, bubbly, silly little girl, and we can't help but feel incredibly grateful. 🥹💗

Grateful for every heartbeat. Every smile. Every laugh. Every hug. Every ordinary day that we once prayed so hard for.

Her turning two isn't just a birthday to us. It's a reminder of how far she's come and how much we've been through together. It reminds us of all the moments we were terrified, but somehow, we kept going.

Our hearts hurt when we look back, but they are also so incredibly full.

Our sweet girl, you may have half a heart, but you have completely filled ours. 🤍

Your 2nd birthday is still a month away, but Mommy and Daddy are already feeling all the emotions. We are so proud of you, so grateful for you, and we will never stop being thankful for every day we get to watch you grow. 🥹🤍

176 days since Inbi was listed for a heart transplant.

They say you are lucky if you don’t know your way around a children’s hospital. And honestly, it’s true.

But at the same time, my heart is filled with so much gratitude because the reason we know these hallways is because our daughter is here with us today. She is here because of the doctors, nurses, and staff who took care of her, fought for her, and became such an important part of our journey.

Walking through the hallways of a children’s hospital, you start to see things differently. You pass another parent and you give a small nod. A quiet nod that says “I see you.” A nod that says “I understand.” Because even without words, you know they are carrying the same kind of fear, the same kind of hope, and the same love for their child that you carry.

We have been coming to this hospital for more than 2 years now, since the day they started caring for Inbi while she was still in my tummy. We have seen so many emotions inside these walls.

We have seen couples crying in the hallways, maybe because they just heard their child’s diagnosis for the first time. We remember that feeling so well. The fear, the confusion, the moment when your whole world changes. You don’t care where you are or who is around you because your heart is just overwhelmed.

We have also seen families who are fighting battles every single day and still manage to smile. Parents who are tired but continue showing up. Parents who are scared but continue choosing hope. Families who remind you that even in the hardest moments, there can still be so much strength and love.

So yes, I think we are blessed that we know our way around a children’s hospital.

Because behind every hallway we walk through is a memory of how far Inbi has come. Behind every familiar face is someone who helped us get here. And behind every difficult moment is a reminder that we are lucky to have our daughter with us.

I never imagined this would become a place so familiar to us. I never imagined we would know so many doctors, nurses, and corners of this hospital. But I will always be grateful for these walls, because this is where people helped save our daughter’s life, where we found kindness during our hardest days, and where we continue to hold on to hope.

Our journey is not the one we imagined, but every single day we get with Inbi is a gift. ❤️

Her scar is barely visible ❤️

2 open heart surgeries and a heart transplant to go (praying that would be her last) 🙏

168 days on the heart transplant list. 💚

Our little Inbi is doing clinically well, and we couldn't be more grateful. She's growing just like any other busy toddler, keeping us on our toes, and absolutely loving summer (except for the heat! ☀️😅).

Next month we have another transplant clinic appointment and blood work, which is still her least favorite part. We're so thankful that she's feeling well, staying active, and continuing to reach all of her milestones.

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for our sweet girl and follow her journey. Please keep Inbi in your thoughts as we continue to wait for the gift of a new heart. ❤️

At her medical appointments, even while she was still in my tummy, the doctors told me she might be delayed, that she may not walk until she was 2, maybe even 3. Then when she was born, after her first open heart surgery, she had a mild stroke at barely 2 days old, so the odds of her walking early were really low. Another challenge came when we were told she was not eligible for the second stage surgery that could make life easier for her, and that she would need a new heart. But look at her now, proving everyone wrong. At just 19 months, our little warrior is already walking on her own. This is God showing me how miracles happen every day through her.
She continues to show us every single day how strong, determined, and resilient she is. No matter what challenges come her way, she faces them with courage and quiet strength. She may be small, but her spirit is incredibly powerful, stronger than we ever imagined. She is not just hitting milestones, she is redefining them in her own time, in her own way. And we could not be more proud of the fighter that she is.

Happy Zipper Day, our brave little Inbi 🤍✨

Today, on National Zipper Day, and your 103rd day on the heart transplant list, we celebrate the tiny line on your chest that tells the biggest story of strength, faith, and miracles. Your zipper is what we lovingly call your scar because it looks like a small zipper running down your chest after heart surgery.

It is called a "zipper" because the incision made during open heart surgery is carefully closed with stitches that resemble the teeth of a zipper coming together, holding everything safely in place.🫶

I will be honest, in the beginning it was hard for me to look at it, even harder to take photos. It reminded me of the pain you had to go through, the fear, the unknown, and all the tears we cried. Not because we are embarrassed of your scar, never that, but because it opens a deep trauma in us as parents, a memory of everything you had to endure so early in life.
But over time, God changed my heart. I started to see it differently.

Now I see courage.
I see survival.
I see a testimony.

That little "zipper" is something to be proud of. It shows how much you have already endured in your short, beautiful life. And every single day, you continue to amaze us with your strength, your smile, and your joy.

Inbi, you are our miracle. Our warrior. Our answered prayer.🙏❤️

We are so, so proud of you. Always. 💖

100 days on the transplant list 🤍

God has carried us through every single one of these days. Even in the waiting we continue to see His hand in everything, in the strength He gives Inbi, in the peace He puts in our hearts, and in the love that surrounds us.

What’s amazing is how normal life feels with her. People are always so shocked when we share her heart journey, because to us, she’s just Inbi - happy, strong, full of life, and absolutely perfect in every way.

Inbi, you are covered in so many prayers. We don’t know exactly how God will move, but we believe He is preparing a miracle for you. Maybe it’s a new heart, or maybe it’s your own heart growing stronger to carry you through the next two stage surgeries. Either way, we trust His plan and His perfect timing.

100 days of waiting… 100 days of trusting 🤍
