When her son Michael was born with congenital heart disease, pumping breastmilk became one of the few things Alina felt she could do to help during a time filled with uncertainty. Inspired by the care her family received at The Hospital for Sick Children and grateful for her ability to produce more milk than Michael needed, she chose to become a milk donorâgiving back to vulnerable babies and families facing challenges of their own đ
âDonating milk feels meaningful because I have seen firsthand what families of medically vulnerable babies go through. While we were fortunate not to need donor milk ourselves, I know that if we had, I would have been deeply grateful to the donors who made it available. Being able to help another family, even in a small way, during hard times means a lot to me.â
