Fatigue. Weight that will not shift. Hair thinning. Brain fog.
Those four symptoms show up in all four of these conditions. That overlap is exactly why people get bounced between them for years, and why the symptom list alone never settles it.
Endometriosis. Tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, still responds to your monthly hormone shifts, and swells and bleeds with nowhere to go. That is where the inflammation, scarring and pain come from. The signature is pain: heavy painful periods, pelvic pain between them, pain with s*x, bowel changes.
PMOS, formerly PCOS. Ovulation becomes irregular, androgens run higher than they should, and for many people insulin stops working efficiently. The signature is the metabolic side sitting next to the cycle side: jawline acne, hair where you do not want it and thinning where you do, sugar cravings, weight that resists.
Thyroid imbalance. Your thyroid sets the speed of nearly every cell, and when it runs slow, usually because the immune system is attacking it, everything slows with it. The signature is temperature and pace: always cold, or always too warm, constipation, dry skin.
Perimenopause. Estrogen and progesterone stop following a steady monthly rhythm and swing instead, sometimes for years. Menopause is the point where periods have stopped for twelve months. The signature is change: cycles that shift length, hot flashes, broken sleep, new anxiety.
Same four headline symptoms. Four different mechanisms. Four different sets of tests, which is the actual point of the deck.
Shared for education, not as medical advice. Which of these fits your picture, and which tests are worth running, depends on your history and your cycle. That is a conversation for your own Naturopathic Doctor.
