I formulated a custom recipe for Sadie...

She's very picky and wouldn't eat it. Wouldn't eat store bought foods either and was losing too much weight.

Her mom had a great idea! She decided to use the recipe but dehydrated instead of gently cooked. Love it!!

She used a food processor (or a Ninja blender)to mince all the raw ingredients. Mix it altogether, put on parchment paper covered pans, then used her oven dehydrator function.

She flips it half way then scores it to make it easier to break up once it's finished.

The batch supplements are also added into the raw mixture.
Fresh supplements given daily.

You can do this even without a dehydrator function. You'd just have to crack the oven door to reduce the lowest heat setting further. Or use an actual dehydrator but put it on a grate liner or parchment paper.

Sadie loves it and has gained the weight back she had lost from not eating.

Store some in a glass jar in the fridge and the rest goes in the freezer. Take out as needed.

This is great for travel or trips to the cabin and such.

Is your dog constantly scratching or dealing with dry flaky or irritated skin?

In the holistic world, we often say "The skin is a mirror of the liver." Here is the breakdown of the Liver-Skin connection.

​🌿 The Liver’s "Janitor" Job
​The liver is the body’s primary filtration system. It’s responsible for neutralizing toxins from food, vaccines, flea preventatives, and the environment. When the liver is healthy, it breaks these down and sends them out through waste.

​🌿 The "Backlog" Effect
​If the liver becomes overwhelmed—due to poor diet, chemical overload, or sluggish bile flow—it can’t keep up. When the "front door" (the liver) is jammed, the body looks for a "back door" to push those toxins out.
That back door is the skin.

​🌿 How it Shows Up on the Outside
​When toxins are pushed out through the skin, it causes a variety of inflammatory responses:

​Itchiness
Heat & Redness
Dry​ Skin & Dandruff (poor fatty acid processing)

If you want to heal the skin, you have to reduce the toxic load, heal the gut and support the liver.

There are other options besides surgery to repair a CCL tear!

Max, 12 year old Havanese with a full CCL tear right knee.

Diagnosed in January. The owner opted out of surgery.

Current Progress:

No major limping noted, still some weakness. He is taking short walks with his brace on.
He's a pretty calm dog so we will now try him with no brace while in the house or when accompanied out in the yard.
Still no stairs or jumping on furniture of course.

His healing plan included:

A home cooked diet (and Smack dehydrated raw with added water) and a custom herbal protocol, both internal herbal support and external applications.
Complete rest with limited mobility in the yard.
A brace to support his leg.
Laser therapy twice a week.

All the above combined has been working out great for Max and he's healing faster then expected. The goal is to keep him that way and very slowly increase the time of his controlled walks.

I'll provide a second update in a month or 2
