🟣 **PURPLE CHAIR CAMPAIGN — CALL TO ACTION** 🟣
**August 31, 2026 | 12:00 PM | Nelson City Hall**
Autonomous Sinixt is calling on our community to come together in support of the **Purple Chair Campaign** and in solidarity with the individuals, families and communities impacted by toxic drug fatalities.
🪑 **Bring a purple chair and join us at Nelson City Hall.**
Following the gathering, we will **walk together in solidarity to Lakeside Rotary Park**, connecting with events taking place there in commemoration of **International Overdose Awareness Day**.
In a single week in April 2026, **nine toxic drug fatalities occurred in Trail, B.C.** Toxic drug fatalities are also the leading cause of death among males ages 10–56.
These losses have affected our communities for far too long.
Autonomous Sinixt is calling for **safe supply, safe injection sites, accessible services for rural populations, and the implementation of proven, effective programs** as essential first steps toward addressing this ongoing crisis.
💜 **Please come and join us in solidarity.**
Autonomous Sinixt dedicates its support for the Purple Chair Campaign initiative to **Aubrey and his Mom, Jessica.**
