If you hate the texture, you won’t use it: even the best actives are useless without consistent use.

Boring ingredients are the real MVPs: the unsung heroes often make the formula work behind the scenes.

Biotech is redefining “natural”: science can create nature-inspired ingredients that are effective, consistent, and more sustainable.

Something that is not talked about enough when making cosmetics is the importance of keeping proper batch records.

Every batch should have a clear record of what was made, when it was made, which ingredients and lot numbers were used, quantities, processing details, and any observations or adjustments along the way.

Because when something goes wrong or when a batch turns out exceptionally well you need to know exactly what happened!

Good batch records aren’t just paperwork. They’re what help you maintain consistency, traceability, quality, and confidence in your products.

1)Your cleanser doesn’t need to be expensive: Its a rinse off product, so I wouldn’t spend $80 on a cleanser

2) foam doesn’t equal cleaning power: a cleanser can be low foam, cream based, oil based (my fav) or foaming and they all cleanse great

3) You don’t need a cleanser packed with actives: your cleanser has very limited time on your skin. Your cleanser has one job, that is to cleanse.

4) Your skin shouldn’t feel stripped afterward: if you’re consistently feeling tight, dry or uncomfortable after cleansing, your cleanser is not a good fit for you.

5) Texture and lather are formulation choices: the slip, feel, foam, creaminess, rinse off and after feel are allll formulation choices!

6) Double cleansing isn’t for everyone: double cleansing is useful when you’re removing heavy makeup or water resistant sunscreen, but everyone doesn’t need to double cleanse every night.

Our final Kids Skincare Science Camp of the summer is happening August 27th.

For one day, your child gets to step into the lab as a junior cosmetic scientist and learn the science behind skincare while formulating their very own products from scratch.

They’ll learn about skin science, ingredients, formulation and emulsions. They make and take home:

🤍 A DIY clay face mask

It’s hands-on, creative, educational and, most importantly, so much fun.
