🌪🔥💧 Coming Back to My Body 🌪️🔥💧
For years, I have trained, worked with clients, and focused on emotional regulation. There was always this quiet idea in the back of my mind that "doing the work" would eventually lead to a permanent state of flow, a place where I would just stay happy and balanced all the time.
But this journey through grief, navigating health challenges, and the physical struggle of getting back into shape has taught me something much deeper.
I realized that during the heaviest parts of this grief, I was frozen.
Even as an EFT practitioner, someone who can see these patterns so clearly in others, I could not see it in myself. I was stuck in a survival state I didn't even recognize.
Now, this emotional rollercoaster, the days of crying in the car, the days of dancing like a fool, and the mid-set meltdowns at the gym, is actually a massive relief.
It means I am starting to come back into my body. I am starting to feel again.
The sadness sucks. The grief is heavy. The anger is intense. But I missed it. I missed the ability to feel the full spectrum of being human. I am so happy to be awake again, even if it is messy, and even if it means I am crying through my reps.
The goal was never to be "perfectly happy." The goal was to be present.
