From “Meh” to “Yeah”
================
Here is another amazing TFW transformation:
I started Training For Warriors in 2015 at approximately 170lbs. I was ready to move my body after not doing anything since before I got pregnant with our first child in 2012.
In the old days I would randomly get to the local 24hr gym and hop on the elliptical and pick up some dumbbells. In 2015 my husband started coaching something called Training For Warriors and I trusted him to guide me in a better direction. I was ready to learn all of it but it was new and it was hard. I had never done most of the movements or lifts or a chin-up and I had never made the effort to sprint. My TFW coach believed in me and helped me believe I could do it all, so I did. But I didn’t do it the way it was intended. I didn’t change my eating habits and I didn’t get to the dojo consistently. I loved TFW but I didn’t make it a priority in my life.
Meh. 🤷♀️ By the end of 2016 I was tired of letting other things get in the way of what I wanted for myself and my health.
I wanted to be healthier and stronger and more alive. I knew I had to make it a priority.
In January of 2017 I committed myself to myself and to TFW. I paid attention to my food intake, following the guide TFW provides. I made a decision to eat better, not for six weeks, not for 90 days, but for the rest of my life.
I kept a journal, recording my food intake, for the first two months of 2017. It helped me stay on track and I learned so much about myself and about food. I now recommend and encourage this to everyone that needs help with nutrition.
Aside from falling in love with TFW, I fell in love with group training, specifically the people that became my familia. I made it to the TFW dojo 4x a week from January to July and by that point I was approximately 150lbs and the strongest and healthiest I had ever felt.
Hell yeah! 💪💪 In July we moved our family to Madison, Wisconsin to open our own dojo. I became certified in the Training For Warriors system and was ready to coach!
