As we return to routines again next week, do you anticipate also returning to being crazy busy and tired quickly?
Make sure you carve out time in that hectic routine for personal space.
I don't mean the typical self-care time. I mean time for solidly creating peace inside you.
This simple practice is essential to everyone's routine to combat the hectic pace and nurture your nervous system so that it can sustain you rather than burn out.
Everyday... yes, it really needs to be daily practice to fully feel solid and supportive to your body... schedule 10 minutes... that's it.... 10 minutes... to:
- Sit in a quiet spot.
- Close your eyes.
- Focus your attention and awareness inside you.
- Actively let go: with your mind focus on one body part at a time and either breathe deeply into that body part and with your exhale blow tensions out of it, or, give that body part permission to relax and let go of all holding as if you are talking directly to it. Watch as the tensions dissolve and the body part softens. Sometimes it is subtle to pay close attention or you won't notice it softening. Move through the body, one part at a time, from head to toe, consciously letting go.
- When you finish relaxing the body, sit for a few moments just feeling your body.
- As you sit and feel the body, SMILE. This will uplift you emotionally and mentally. At first you might feel silly. That's perfect! As you feel silly, you will smile more and you might even laugh. That action uplifts your spirits.
Result: a feeling of softness, peace, and joy.
