Cervical anatomy features eight cervical nerves (C1-C8) that branch off of the spinal cord and control different types of bodily and sensory activities.

The human microbiota functions at the interface between diet, medication-use, lifestyle, host immune development and health. It is therefore closely aligned with many of the recognised modifiable factors that influence bone mass accrual in the young, and bone maintenance and skeletal decline in olde...

Running all through your spinal cord is a pattern shaped like a butterfly🦋and in areas of the brain. On a butterfly's wings light and energy is absorbed and flows more through the darker regions, where the wing's structure is much more dense.

Cerebro-spinal nervous system: we do look a little creepy under our skin :)

Cerebro-spinal nervous system is the portion of the nervous system in vertebrates comprising the brain, cranial nerves, spinal cord, and the spinal nerves concerned with transmission of impulses from sense organs to the voluntary muscles.

What you see is only the tip of the iceberg! :)

Enjoy these facts about teeth:

- Humans have two sets of teeth during their lifetime, while sharks have around 40 sets of teeth.

- Your mouth produces over 25,000 quarts of saliva throughout your life. That’s enough to fill two swimming pools! Saliva protects your teeth from bacteria in your mouth as well as provides the first enzymes for digestion of sugars.

-The average person spends 38 days brushing their teeth during their lifetime.

-One third of your teeth are underneath your gums.

-Modern toothpaste has only been available for the past hundred years. Before this invention, humans used charcoal or ground chalk, ashes, lemon juice, and honey-tobacco mixtures to clean their teeth!

Ever wondered what the nerval connection between your brain and your arms looks like? You can see it in this awesome photograph of the so called brachial plexus :)

The brachial plexus is responsible for cutaneous and muscular innervation of the entire upper limb except for the trapezius muscle and an area of skin near the axilla. It is the pathway for every informational exchange between your brain and the muscles of your arms and hands.

Lesions thus of course lead to severe functional impairment of the upper extremity. Cutting the brachial plexus would be like cutting a cable to an electric device, no information from the brain/power supply would reach the device.

The brachial plexus is divided into Roots, Trunks, Divisions, Cords, and Branches. It makes it kind of rough to learn but the organization of this nerval structure is amazing!

Here is a schematic illustration of the brachial plexus:

When a s***m cell is scaled to fit your spinal cord its head matches the center oval (corpus callosum) in your mind.
