Goldencare Wellness | Osteopathy & Acupuncture is an oasis in Yaletown.

Light. Airy. Calm. Soft. Inviting. Restorative - These were the words I used the first time I walked in.

The moment you step in, you feel it. It’s a space made for slowing down, breathing, and simply being.

A private space just for you. Where there are no distractions, no pressure and care designed around your body and needs.

Acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, facial work, and TCM-informed guidance, grounded in modern understanding — supporting your nervous system, digestion, sleep, and energy.

Come, reset, recharge, and leave feeling like yourself.

🤧 Me this week 🙃🙋🏻‍♀️

If you’re a seasonal allergy girly, I feel you. Spring in Vancouver really said let’s test your immune system 🌸

If your symptoms show up every year like clockwork, this is your nudge to try something different.

I use Balance Style Acupuncture (plus a few very well-placed facial points) to calm symptoms and help your body get back in sync with the season.

aka supporting your Qi—your body’s vital energy—so it stops overreacting to every bloom.

Think: a seasonal reset that supports this year’s symptoms and works on preventing next year’s.

Stop reacting. Start adapting.
Drug-free. Preventative. Root-focused care.

Your future spring self will thank you 🌿

Cold smoothie on a rainy Vancouver day… and your digestion taps out?

In TCM, it’s not just what you eat—it’s how it moves your Qi (your body’s energy).

Acupuncture helps shift you from go-go-go → rest + reset.
Less bloating. Steadier energy. Calmer mind.

A little check-in: are you eating with your body… or pushing through?

Curious how your body would respond? Let’s explore.

Thrilled to be part of a clinic with over 20+ years in Kitsilano… and it’s still the kind of place where your dog gets greeted before you do 🐶

Our clinic feels like community: care is collaborative, conversations are real, and your health is always approached as a team.

Dr. Daniel Baronas, Tamara, and I are excited to continue what Dr. Paul Dodsworth and Grainne built. helping you move, feel, and live better.

⬇️ What’s one food you can’t live without?

Today on Food Cures Fridays: D is for Danger
…But in TCM, no food is truly “off limits*”. Promise!

⛔️ Danger = mismatch
I’m not about food drama or crazy diets (did that in my youth 👎🏼). But I will talk with you about the foods that don’t vibe with your body, right now.

🧊 Too much cold, raw, or icy stuff?
Digestion in TCM loves warmth. Warmth turns food into usable energy (Qi!). Too much cold can leave you bloated, foggy, heavy, or sluggish.

🔥 Running hot instead?
Spicy foods, alcohol, charred meals… they can stoke internal heat. Result? Headaches, acne, heartburn, restless nights.

The real danger ⚠️ is ignoring your body’s signals, and powering through anyway.

Bottom line: eat with your body, not against it.

What do I treat?! This is my favourite question.

The short answer? A lot more than people expect.

If your body’s been feeling a little “off,” it usually shows up as… being tired but can’t sleep, your digestion’s unpredictable
stress won’t switch off, your jaw’s tight, pesky headaches keep coming back or your hormones just feel out of sync.

That’s mostly what I treat:
- Stress, sleep, digestion & anxiety 🫨🫩🤢
- Women’s health & hormones 👸🤰🏻
- Headaches, jaw pain & TMJ 🤕🦷
- Chronic pain & acute injuries💊🩼

I use acupuncture to regulate Qi (your body’s vital energy) and help your nervous system settle so everything flows a bit easier.

You don’t have to push through it.
Save this for when your body asks for support.

Tiny seeds, big support 🌿

If your nervous system has been feeling a little… Vancouver-in-March (hi stress, low energy, unpredictable everything), this one’s for you.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the ear is seen as a microsystem of the whole body. That means tiny points on the ear can reflect and support things like stress, digestion, hormones, sleep, and pain.

Enter: ear seeds.

These small beads (usually plant-based or metal) are gently taped to the ear and stay on for a few days. No needles needed. Just light, consistent pressure sending signals to your nervous system to help regulate, reset, and restore.

A little history moment:
Ear therapy has roots in ancient China, and in the 1950s, Dr. Paul Nogier mapped the ear as a “microsystem,” shaping how we use auricular therapy today.

Why patients love them:
• Non-invasive and easy to wear
• Subtle, but effective (yes, even for busy workdays)
• Extend the benefits of your treatment between visits
• Support Qi (your body’s vital energy) so things keep moving

In my Kitsilano and Yaletown clinics, ear seeds are one of my favourite add-ons. Small, simple, and surprisingly powerful.

Curious what a few tiny seeds could shift for you?

C is for Colour 🌈
(aka your easiest TCM upgrade)

Feeling:
– sluggish after meals
– 3pm energy crashes
– a little “on edge” lately

Start with what’s on your plate.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, colour = function:

Green → supports Liver Qi (stress + flow)
Red → nourishes the Heart (circulation + calm)
Yellow → strengthens digestion (Spleen = energy production)
White → supports Lung Qi (immunity + breath)
Black → builds Kidney energy (deep reserves)

No perfect rainbow needed. Just variety over time.

It’s Very Vancouver of you to romanticize your grocery haul… but also? Your body will thank you.

This weekend, shop your local farmers market for some cool food finds. In Vancouver?!? Check out for greens you never knew existed, & for all things fresh, frozen & dried & .foods if you need a little spice in your life!

Save this for your next shop 🛒.

“Healthy” isn’t always helpful.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, food therapy isn’t about strict rules or trendy diets. It’s about what fits your body right now—your energy, digestion, and overall balance.

A plate full of raw salads, smoothies, and iced drinks can look like the picture of health. But for many people, too much cold or raw food can slow digestion and leave you feeling bloated, tired, or low on energy.

Small shifts often make a big difference.

Think warm breakfasts, lightly steamed vegetables, or simple cooked meals that are easier for the body to process. This is the heart of mindful eating in TCM—paying attention to how food actually feels in your body.

Because when digestion feels supported, energy becomes steadier and everyday meals turn into quiet medicine.

A small step on any wellness journey.

Cold contracts. Warmth softens.
Your body needs both.

On Vancouver’s wet, chilly days, muscles tighten, circulation slows, and energy dips. Acupuncture with targeted warmth (think heated tables, steam towels, TDP lamps, and moxa) really helps your body relax, restore flow, and reset your nervous system.

Feel softer, move easier, and let the rain go right past you.

Drop a ❤️, save for later, or share with someone who needs a little warmth today 🥰.

In TCM, food isn’t just fuel. It’s daily medicine.

Every bite can build energy, move stuck Qi, or calm your nervous system. Combine thoughtful food choices with acupuncture to support stress relief, hormone shifts, and care for digestive issues, and you’re giving your body the reset it really needs.

From local farmers (I see you & at the Vancouver Farmers Markets!) to Vancouver restaurants, the foods you eat and the care you receive work together to support digestion, mood, and energy.

Your nervous system will thank you.
