Two years after the previous release, the venerable Wilson Blade returns with its tenth generation. The v10 aims to inject more "pop" and stability into the series without sacrificing its legendary control. Wilson achieved this by redesigning the side profile: it’s now thinner near the handle for increased swing speed, but thicker at the head for added power and a more stable feel on impact.

The cosmetics are equally impressive. Dressed in "Championship Green" with red accents, the frame now features a gloss finish rather than matte. Subtle, skinny lines along the frame add a touch of texture, making for a truly gorgeous aesthetic.

Performance-wise, the v10 offers a solid, "muted" response that handles high-paced exchanges better than its predecessors. It successfully bridges the gap between the v9’s softer flex and the v8’s connected feel. This specific version is the 104 sq. in. model—a frame I’ve personally used through versions 7, 8, and 9. Thanks to the extra half-inch of length, it delivers excellent spin and control with noticeably more power than the smaller-headed models in the lineup.

Hip to be Squared: The new Head Squared is one of the most unique rackets I’ve picked up in a long time. The standout spec is how head-light it is; it's clearly engineered for maneuverability and an easy swing. Typically, that balance is paired with a feather-light weight and high stiffness to compensate for the lack of plow-through. However, this frame is medium-weight and soft, offering an arm-friendly feel without sacrificing power. Plus, the very open string pattern and low swing weight make generating spin feel effortless.

Cosmetically, the racket is a stunner. The paint job is a metallic silver that shifts beautifully in the light—at certain angles, you can see subtle specks of pink and green that give it a high-end, iridescent finish.

I’ve really enjoyed hitting with it. It’s comfortable and stable, yet crisp and responsive—especially compared to other comfort rackets like the Wilson Clash, which is similarly soft but feels much duller. While the stock Head Lynx Power (a new product) demo strings lacked a bit of "oomph," I’m confident I can squeeze out more pop with a different setup.

Head markets this for beginners, intermediates, or seasoned players returning from injury. For me personally, it hits the sweet spot: a light, comfy racket with easy access to spin and great feel. It’s just a fun stick to play with.

Wilson Ultra 98J Tour: Arguably Wilson's best racket. Only released in Japan to Kei Nishikori's specs. Beautifully colour matched with ReString Zero 17 x ReString Vivo 17 strings.

Specs: 98 sq in, 290g unstrung, 33cm balance point, 22mm constant beam, 27.25” length, 18x19 string pattern.

It is praised for its excellent feel, control, and maneuverability, especially for those with flatter strokes, but its low power and lighter weight often require customization (leather grip, lead tape) for added stability and punch, making it a great but demanding racquet for developing intermediates to advanced players seeking a blend of touch, feel, and modern playability.

Pros:
Excellent comfort, control, and arm-friendliness.
Fantastic for drop shots, slices, and creative play.
More user-friendly and playable than the standard Ultra 98.

Cons:
Needs customization (leather grip, lead) to reach its full potential.
Spin is good but not "machine-like"; requires full swings.

Nordicdots might be a young brand in the tennis world, but they’ve quickly carved out a niche by offering rackets with a clean design, premium feel, and pro-stock-like playability.

Specs: 305 g, 98 sq in, 16×19 pattern, 32 cm balance, swing weight ~320 strung

The 98S is the spin-friendly sibling. With its open 16×19 pattern and relatively high launch angle, it is most similar to a Tecnifibre Tfight 300S or a HEAD Radical MP. The frame is mid-to-high in terms of stiffness (high 60s RA), which gives it more power than you’d expect from a 98 sq inch head size, but can also be a bit firm off-center.

On court, the 98S rewards players who generate racquet head speed and like to hit with topspin. The ball trajectory comes off a bit higher, which can be useful for pushing opponents back or creating kick on the serve. However, the sweet spot is compact—miss the center and you’ll feel it.

This racket feels raw and connected, with less built-in dampening than some modern control frames. If you like the more “classic graphite” sensation, this could be your frame.

The Babolat Pure Aero Rafa Origin. What a kaleidoscope of colours.

Had Rafa been able to extend his career, we might have seen it more often. It is a high-performance tennis racquet designed for advanced players, mirroring Rafael Nadal's demanding specs with a 100 sq. inch head, 16x19 spin-friendly pattern, but with significantly more head-heavy balance and a higher swingweight (around 370 strung) for massive power and spin, featuring its signature pink/yellow/black paint, keeping the traditional two-main-skip stringing for enhanced bite, making it ideal for big hitters wanting Rafa-like feel but demanding significant strength and swing speed. It's as close as you can get to Nadal's actual setup, focusing on power and extreme spin.

Head Boom MP Mint Gen 2 paired with the new ReString Vivo 17 strings is a match made in heaven.

At 11 ounces strung and boasting a sub 320 swingweight, the Boom MP offers explosive speed from the baseline and quick handling at net. It also features a unique head shape, which creates a more forgiving contact zone in the upper hoop along with a larger spin window. The result is a uniquely comfortable modern player's racquet with near effortless access to power and spin.
