๐Ÿ’โ™€๏ธ Do you eat at your desk? Or grab a quick bite on the go?

In our busy world of hustle culture and burn-out itโ€™s no surprise that work can seep into our lunch breaks and leave mealtime feeling more like a chore than a tasty experience. ๐Ÿฑ

But studies by Harvard show that eating mindfully not only helps your overall digestion but it also decreases the likelihood of overeating, weight gain and anxiety.

Now for those of you busy beeโ€™s ๐Ÿ thinking this sounds lovely in theory but tricky to implement in practice, I hear you!

Many things can get in the way of our lunch break especially where work is concerned, so itโ€™s up to us to honor our body and make nourishing it a priority.

This means saying no to lunch work calls, turning your phone on airplane mode and taking at least 10 minutes to savor the meal.

Next time you take your lunch break try practicing the following:

๐Ÿ”น Practice gratitude for the meal rather than judgement.
๐Ÿ”ธ Engage your senses! Notice the smell of the food, the nuances of flavor, the textures and how you feel with each nourishing bite.
๐Ÿ”น Minimize distractions and donโ€™t multitask so you can savor the full experience.
๐Ÿ”ธ Eat slowly and with intention, chewing thoroughly to release the flavors and notice your fully happy belly!
๐Ÿ”น Notice any internal or external queues your body may be giving you about the food youโ€™re consuming.

๐Ÿฅณ Bonus tip! When I first started this, I began with my favorite types of lunches because this made it easier to stay present.

Hours? Days? Years? No judgments here!

I used to stress very easily - to the point where my stomach would be in knots!
As much as Iโ€™d love to book a spa retreat every time things get stressful, I know this isnโ€™t realistic or feasible. ๐Ÿ˜”

Instead Iโ€™ve discovered little ways to increase my relaxation that donโ€™t involve a luxury massage or hour long bubble bath.

Here are some ideas to inspire relaxation:

โœ… Listen to a guided meditation, this can help regulate your breathing and calm your nervous system which automatically reduces stress.
โœ… Practice 1-5 minutes of deep belly breathing as this is one of the quickest ways to switch from โ€œfight or flightโ€ to โ€œrest and digestโ€ mode. Even just five deep breaths in and out can make a world of difference!
โœ… Go for a walk in nature without distractions and take little breaks throughout the day.
โœ… Laugh! Yes, a funny video or a call with your best friend can release endorphins which helps counter cortisol stress hormones.

Having a daily practice for relaxation will help reduce your stress levels and improve your overall well being! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Feeling embarrassed by your IBS symptoms? ๐Ÿ˜“

Youโ€™re not alone! Turns out Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common digestive disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. While the exact prevalence is unknown, it is estimated that between 10-15% of the population in the United States suffers from IBS.

๐Ÿ’โ™€๏ธ Women are more likely to be affected than men, and the condition usually begins in young adulthood.

The exact cause of IBS is unknown, but it is believed to be a combination of factors, including stress, diet, and genetics.

There are two main types of IBS: irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D).

Both types can cause abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and changes in bowel movements.

While there is no cure for IBS, there are many ways to manage the symptoms. Some people find relief with dietary changes, such as avoiding trigger foods or eating more fiber. Others may need medication to help control the symptoms.

If you think you may have IBS, it is important to see a doctor for a diagnosis. Once diagnosed, you can work with your doctor to develop a treatment plan that works for you.

Iโ€™ve just finished up a high-level week-long master coach training retreat and WOW!

Accelerated Evolution was a huge up levelling in many ways - mentally, emotionally, and spiritual! ๐Ÿฅฐ

We learned about new transformational processes and techniques and how to be a powerful transcendent leader in our communities, for our team and those we serve.

I was blown away by their powerful insights and vulnerability, which in-turn inspired my transformation and enabled me to see how I could evolve. ๐Ÿ˜
