Lately I’ve been intentionally bringing more play into my days, my weeks, my months.
I had a conversation recently about play + movement, and how as adults, we slowly start to lose it. Remember when you’d play outside until your parents called you in for dinner? Play dates. Running up to a friend at school and asking if they wanted to “play.”
Working with women, I’m realizing how much of that has been stripped from us as we got older. We traded play for exercise. Suddenly it needed a purpose. A goal. A calorie count.
But play when we were kids? It wasn’t for fitness. It was because we felt good doing it. It was for our souls. And the moment we attach “exercise” to it, it just feels different.
So I’ve been reclaiming it. These are some of my recent play days. 🤍
